Well I have placed my first order with Approved Foods and I thought it looked rather good. Many items I have bought I have not seen anywhere before so thats a good thing in itself. And yes there are massive savings on lots of things. You just have to have some patience and time to look through properly.
Also must say HUGE thanks to Martin and MSE as the discount code saved me enough to cover the cost of delivery so great savings!
I have left strict instructions for the courier so hopefully that will be covered . . . . .0 -
I placed my first AF order on Sunday. It was still showing as being picked this morning but arrived early afternoon, which was great. Everything was really well packed, although a sachet of gravy and a small pot of dressing had leaked a little. No great loss.
I don't have a Home Bargains or BM Bargains in my town and our market vanished some time ago so this is a way for me to access this type of bargain.
I've already tried a sachet of Santa Maria spicy breadcrumbs, excellent. Really nice coating for chicken breasts this evening, kept them juicy and tasty.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
My latest Approved Foods parcel arrived safely last week. Everything really well packed so although one shampoo cap was loose and some had leaked, it was all contained within a lock-zip bag, so no big deal. However, I'd ordered (and paid for) 5 Jordans granola packs, but only one was enclosed in my parcel. I raised an online Customer Service Ticket and explained the issue. No response. I phoned yesterday - no Customer Service rep available so had to leave contact details on the answerphone. No response. Phoned again today, again no Customer Service rep so have left contact details again. Not holding my breath for a response! Disappointing customer service, Approved Foods. :mad:0

That's a shame. I don't use AF much these days because the prices have risen so much compared to the old days, and because I don't have any use for sweeties or junk food - but over the past few years I've found their customer service reliably excellent.0

I have spent a lot of money with Approved Foods the last couple of years and have to say their customer service has always been pretty good in my opinion.
Although as Wonderhampster points out, the bargains to be had in the early days from this company are rare these days and their prices have increased greatly.
Unfortunate, as it was a really brilliant idea, but I feel greed may well be their undoing, especially with the likes of Amazon now offering their 'Amazon Pantry' at £2.99 for the same 25k box then only £0.99 for each additional box. Amazon prices are very competitive and obviously all their stock is in date.0 -

No problem for me just now - Picked a product and qty at random
and went into basket okay0 -
Done a few orders when postage was reduced however my recent order was a disappointment!
Order was ruined by a spilliage had to clean and wipe the rest to make it usable.
To be fair they did refund me what was damaged but not the postage. Totally unfair as it was £8.50 so effectively if I had reordered the same goods I would have paid postage twice
I asked them for a reduction in postage they didn't answer.
Ruined delivery and charged for the privilege no thanks won't order again***avid money saver***0 -

Has anyone shopped at approved food before, the items are really cheap top brands, but slightly past there sell by date. Tinned foods, etc
They look like they could be worth a go at saving some money, just wondered if anyone on here has used them before?0 -
