My latest AF order arrived this morning - all present and correct.

Have to say I was impressed by the updated DPD courier parcel tracking. The new version shows an ( almost ) real time map of where the van is , how many deliveries it has to make before it arrives and an estimated number of minutes. I did however find that it operates a few minutes behind , so box arrived when it was still showing as 2 deliveries away.

After praising the new almost real time tracking from DPD , I am extremely disappointed to see that my next parcel is coming from City Link ( all my previous ones have been DPD) . The best they can do is "delivery at sometime tomorrow between 07:30 and 17:30" . pathetic service :(

I really like approved foods and have ordered from them on numerous occasions, however I can no longer justify the 5.25 delivery or having to spend a £15 minimum spend

Ive been shopping between home bargains and aldi and reckon Ive saved just as much

Cant afford to spend £50 a year on food delivery, thats the bottom line

I recommend the peri peri crisps, chilli llama bites, hollandaise sauce - & the bulk muffins & cupcakes (although a mix of flavours would have been nicer - we got chocolate cupcakes & blueberry muffins).

lovely chocolate product currently in stock at £1.50 for 12

Difficult to describe - its a sort of sponge cake with a liquid chocolate fondant , and covered in very thick chocolate

I placed an order this week for the first time in ages. Have always had DPD in the past and been very happy, but as above I'm stuck with City Link this time
NO 'bargain' is worth a whole day stuck in the house! Unless I can see a switch back to a better service on delivery, this will sadly be my last order
Come on Approved Foods, you are losing customers! Please sort it out!!
  • They use both still. My last 3 orders have been the dreaded CL and in between DPD. And funnily enough CL both times were earlier in the day than I was expecting. But I agree that DPD give a time slot which can be most useful.

Thanks for the feedback. Any orders containing fragile items (indicated on our website within the product description with a fragile icon) can not be sent by DPD. We are currently looking into improving this situation and hope to improve it shortly.

I agree, I have also found that recently when you include the delivery charges there is not a lot of difference between other shops and approved foods.

Its not worth my while anymore.

I had a delivery this week from AF via City Link with no problems. Received an email from CL with consignment number, I entered this on CL website on my delivery day and got a 2 hour time slot which proved to be very accurate. HTH

I've found exactly the same thing so I don't order from them any more either, and I used to buy from them a lot :o

It's a shame but there you go - the delivery charge, minimum order value and the fact that their prices aren't all that competitive any more make it just not worthwhile at all.
