Yay Froggy - well done on your new pad.

Can definately recommend Herr A for shopping - its brought my food bills down loads. I don't get everything from there, but it's really good value.

Thanks guys.. All is good down here.. had a massive surprise in the post this week.. A huge tax rebate cheque from HMRC, which corresponds to some of my allowance between 2004 & 2007..
Will need to cash the cheque on Saturday..

On the house front, the survey came back clean, so just the searches to complete then agree on a exchange & completion date, hopefully before the end of this month..

Looking at mortgage calculators, I will probably need about £30K deposit (20%) for my new place, as a single applicant I am likely to be lended about £120K.. that's a huge mountain to climb but am happy to take on the challenge..

    Hope everybody is well..

5 weeks to go till my holidays :j:j:j

Hooray for the HMRC rebate. :j

Are you likely to get much equity out of the house sale? What sort of place does £150k buy you in your new area?

I'm going to be doing the same soon with about the same amount of money and also need to save £30k deposit. Going to take until my 30th birthday to get there but very excited.

150k here buys a new 2 bedroom flat or a house in the slightly less nice area. Even most terrace houses are £199k so it will be tough going to find something decent.
