Weekend up North..
Solicitor paperwork has arrived.. Got to complete it tomorrow morning so the sale can progress swiftly..
A bit of gardening to be done to tidy up the place and I'll bury my head in boxes too..
Out for lunch & dinner tomorrow to fit in too..
Thinking about doing weekly shop @ Aldi from now on.. Any advice, tips or secrets anyone would like to share?
Have a great weekend

Hi Froggy, I reckon you can do most of your shopping in Ald!, then maybe use waitros@ or something similar for some treats. It works well for us :T

I would use Aldi for the treats too, it has changed beyond all recognition. I love their French-style fruit spreads and free range chickens for under a fiver. The fruit and veg is usually of a quality I only saw in Germany previously, ditto the cold meat.
Programmed eating is a brilliant way to eat frugally. You cook a chicken for example and base three or four meals around that, then mince ditto (you can always cook one and freeze one). Bacon joints, etc etc . Eating in this way you should be able to have 2 good meals a day - assuming a lunch of wraps, sandwiches, soup - for a total outlay of no more than £30 a week. It does require discipline but I did it for years.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Good luck with all the moving Froggy!
Aldi do do some really nice foods - mcculloch well done on your £30 p/w budget thats fab!!
Gonna have to start looking into it myself .. I always get drawn back to the bigger supermarkets cos they are nearer and do delivery but much cheaper/better quality at aldi/lidl I think!0 -
