Almost at the 5 % mark! It will be good to target the unsecured part of the mortgage.
Hope you are having a good weekend2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
I think lots of us are happy enough to have taken out mortgages we might not get right now. Ours was "only" around 3.5 times our combined income (we decided not to over-stretch ourselves) but over 30yrs. We had some consumer debt too then, so are far more comfortable now.
Hi Katsu :j
Same situation with us, about 3 times our income with loads of debt.. Debt has now dissapeared, and we have both been promoted a few times since, so it all helps... Am glad we took the plunge at the time...

Hey Jellie :j
Yes not far from the 5%, but still a long way to go
Am hoping to make a larger OP in the next few weeks to take us below the £10K mark on the unsecured loan part...
Weekend was good, xmas shopping and preparing for my Mum's arrival this weekend...

Morning all!
Good win at table tennis last night, and we are through to the next round of the cup.. It will be a much tougher opponent next time around...
Tried to make a small OP via online banking yesterday, but the details N-RAM gave me are incorrect  Tried to call them a few times, but lines were either busy or they could not answer due to "unforeseen circumstances"...
I think they just can't cope with all the OP's we keep sending them!!
Not much else to report today

We're waiting for Tesco vouchers too. Hoping to organise some magazine subscriptions for Xmas presses before rewards go down. Have to work out how to best use nectar and boots points for Christmas too!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

Me too, still have £20 of tesco vouchers from last time, and waiting for another £40 ish this time around.. According to the Tesco staff, they should be sent out in the next two weeks or so...
OH has about £10 -£12 worth of Boots points, but I leave that with her, she can treat herself
We don't shop at Sainsbury's so no Nectar points for us
How are the wedding preps going Jellie?

Hi Iris! :j
Very nice to hear from you :T Can't wait for my mum to be here... Also have a couple of days off from work, which I can't wait for.. It will be nice to spend some quality time with her, as I usually only see her twice a year
Phoned N-RAM again this morning as they gave wrong bank details to do my online OP.. They have now confirmed that I can make my OP online, however I would have to phone them each time to direct the OP to the correct account  no, thank you, I do not want to be yet another half hour on hold, each time i just want to make an OP... Therefore I am going back to making my OP by cheque until I have cleared the unsecured loan element.. Then I will start the OP online for the main mortgage account...
Today's Tickle Pink day at work, so I am wearing a pink top, and a witch hat and pink wig.. Funny, we got some weird looks when we popped outside earlier for lunch. :rotfl:. Mind you a 6ft5 guy, 16 stones-ish, dressed all in pink must be quite amusing...
Oh well, hoping to leave work on time (4.30) to avoid the football :footie: traffic.. Home alone (just Elvis & I) as OH is in London till tomorrow..
Thats all for today (so far:p)

 Evening all
Back from work, and a couple of nice letters in the post..
One from Tesco, with a £3 cashcard for a faulty product bought last week - That was a quick turnaround as I only reported it last Saturday..:D
Second letter was from NRAM confirming the last OP made in late September... They have also reduced our monthly direct debit by £2.40 - RESULT !!!!:j
I don't reall know what to do?? Ask NRAM to put back the DD where it was before, or just add that difference to the monthly OP I am making?? What do you think??:o
It's freezing cold up here.. Even poor Elvis is not keen on staying outside to play with his friends... He is now almost glued to the warm radiator, one eye shut, the other one on the footy on the telly..
Don't think will be up late, as am feeling shattered... The next few days off should be good to recharge the batteries..

well done on the nice letters and moneyback froggy -every little helps as they say!
not sure about the OPs, I know the inlaws paid thier mortgage off early by paying lump sums, then reducing monthly payment therefore saving more/quicker for the next lump sum- no idea what is most cost efficient tho - probably depends on how interest is calcluated (bet there is someone on here with a spreadsheet that could figure it out?!)
enjoy your days off0
