I thought you had gone already so I've just edited the above post! Doh!
Thanks. Look forward to that link.
He's a fine bump , 13 days and counting. It's OH first lad so he's excited , we have a Man U kit already with his name on the back...(the babys not OH) I do hope the scan was right though as a girl will look daft with a lads name on her back! Good luck with your family building!
Hey I just read that she hands her wages over to you to OP...not many ladies do that you know, We're normally all into shoes, shopping and handbags !
Will keep an eye on your thread, and keep my fingers crossed for a swift and smooth delivery, of a beautiful baby boy!:j
I live in the wrong part of the country, I am an Arsenal fan :T, but not mad enough to adorn my Arsenal shirt and walking through the streets around here...
Don't worry, my OH is very much into shopping, bags shoes.. She could spend days in the Trafford Centre if I allowed her to.. However she earns bucket loads more than me and is quite careful with her money.. She is warming up to the idea of paying the mortgage quicker than the 35 year planned!!
Also seen on your thread that your Mum lives in France, can I ask where? My mum who also lives in France is coming over in October (coincidence??) by ferry with car, to deliver loads of goodies (wine, fine food, cheese, meat, presents)... I can't wait!

Thanks I'd be interested to know how it went. I'd like to book OH something like that for his birthday in November. Is it one of those red letter days ?
Tips? Erm ...YES! Avoid expensive fuel guzzlers at all costs even if you love them !
and avoid men with expensive car tastes ...but you won't have that problem!
Edit - Had a quick skim through your thread..phew! Well done on your OP's !
Did you get your phone sorted out? Me and Oh are also with 3. We went into the Trafford Centre ( I see your a fellow Manc ) and got a great deal where are phone calls to each other are free. ( that's all mainly that we use them for ) OH is on contract £25 pm and I'm on top up £10 every 3 months. A big difference to the £100 pm we use to have! Maybe worth a look at if your not sorted yet.
And Music Magpie - I've used them a lot if your with TCB you can get cashback of 7.5%, MM pay out very quickly and its no hassle.
HTH
Thanks for the support! These are small OP so far, as we are tidying up our finances (one big loan just about to be paid would free up £420 per month!!), and OH is due backpay & bonus shortly... Plus mileage claim through HMRC & council tax re-banding refund...
I did get my mobile sorted out... Through Vodafone, £10 per month, more minutes & texts than before, and its only a 12 month contract, so if I don't like it, I will ditch it next summer...
I had a galnce at MM a while back but the prices tehy offered were quite low, is that what you found as well?? I know the alternative would be Ebay, but I ma not very keen on it

Thanks re the baby.
My mum isn't your mum too is she ?
She lives near Bergerac, she's only coming for a few days to see the baby. Where does your mum live?
Wow £420 is a lot of money to free up. Its amazing where you find the money from here and there to OP isn't it.
Yes I used MM as I didnt have time to Ebay, we've sent 100's of films there as we now tend to collect blu ray films. Supermarkets sell normal dvds quite cheaply so we cut our losses and banked the cheque. It bothered me at first but they were all falling out of cupboards so it was time to declutter anyway
Enjoy tomorrow and let us know how it goes !I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -

Sounds like we've got the same Mum! How weird?? My mum lives in Brittany, a nice little house only 50 yards from the beach..:D

Evening all! :j
OH & I just got back from a great weekend away! The day racing was amazing... Unfortunately I could not fit in the Porsche, a bit of an embaraasing moment, but being so tall sometimes has its adverse effects.. However the nice people at the racetrack let me choose another car, and I went for an Aston Martin Vantage!
It was simply magnificent, my favourite car was still the R8, such a powerful & sexy car! Managed to get to well over 100 mph, and did not crash
The hotel we stayed in was nice, surrounded by a golfcourse... We had a couple of very laughable moments... The first night we were there, we had a drink in the hotel bar, and quite a lot of the golfers seemed to have been there for a while (aka in the advanced stages of making fools of fthemselves).. A few minutes later, two women entered the bar.. OH pointed out that one of them had clearly forgotten an essential piece of clothing, when one goes out.. See through white trousers, but no knickers on... Just there, you just saw 25 men stop what they were doing and running over to this lady to offer her a drink... How pathetic...
Second occurence was Saturday, when OH & I visited Shewsbury (sp??), and found a sports bar to watch the football and grab a bite to eat.. nice place, a bit quiet, with a few men & family in there... Suddenly felt like I just stepped up into Hooters!! For those not familiar concept, its a bar chain in the US where the waitresses have ample assets, and don't mind working in not a lot of clothing... But this happened on a Saturday lunchtime in Shropshire!! Hilarious scenes followed where you would see couples arguing as women would tear into their husbands, as they were "gazing" at these waitresses...:o
The massage in the spa was also a MUST, I felt so relaxed afterwards...
Anyway, that spiced up a bit our weekend.. We would definitely do it again, probably somewhere different...
And all that was on budget too... Bonus :T
Once the mortgage is paid off, I am getting an R8!
Back to work tomorrow, its gonna be a long week!
Cheers

Afternoon all! :j
I have been paid on Friday, therefore I have made a £100 OP to the mortgage...
Not sure what will happen next month, as the first payment for the new car should come out of my account on the 3rd of the month.. I will have to tighten up my belt, and see how it goes...
It will really depend on OH pay rise & bonus...the fact that she does not have a figure yet is stressing us both, as we can not take any decisions as yet as to our financial future.. Very frustrating indeed...
Another 3.5 hours in the office, and I will be off home.. I have a big piece of work to finish today hopefully, so will keep my head down and try to finish it all before tonight..
Tonight's tea is ready, just needs warming up.. OH exquisite Sausage Casserole... Creme brulee for me, Sponge Pudding for OH... Biggest Loser on the telly... And Elvis the cat, probably glued in his basket, next to the radiator... Aww bless him...
Have a great day everybody!

Morning all!:j
Did not manage to finish that piece of work last night, but should be able to this morning.. The deadline is tonight.. Once I have that out of the way, I will feel much better...
Checked online banking this morning, and all looks ok so far...
OH is in London till tomorrow night, which should give me a chance to tidy up some paperwork.. I need to find out why I have not received our Building insurance renewal, as I need to sort this out asap...
I also need to chase the council regarding the re-banding...
24 hours in a day is not enough
Have a great day everybody

Hi Froggy,
Glad you had a great day and well done on not crashing! When do you think the mortgage will be paid off to get your R8 ? If I waited for our mortgage to be paid before OH gets his GTR we'll all be flying about instead of driving!
You tickled me about the woman with the white pants on , why oh why would you DO that! ...Don't answer!
Well done on the Op!

Thanks Iris!
I have no idea when the mortgage will be paid off.. If we go full term, it would be November 2041 , and I would be 61 years old!! No way I will be waiting that long!
The dream would be to be mortgage free by the time I am 40, therefore cutting down 21 years off the term... Think its time to seriously increase the OP's!
