Tesco Kitchens

  • I only heard of tescos kitchen through other kitchen fitters, never fitted one myself, but they are meant to not be very good quality and delivery is meant to be really bad which equals unhappy customer and kitchen fitter. They sound like a lot of stress for what should be a pleasant experience .

To be honest I was surprised at the number of well known names being slated by customers on the ReviewCentre web site. I'm not going to name names because I do not want to unfairly single anyone out. You could argue that the bigger firms have so many installations that some will go wrong, and unhappy customers are more likely to post a review. On that basis you would have to weight the number of bad reviews by the number of kitchens fitted per year.

But I bet you and your peers know which are good, and which aren't!

I think it's always definitely worth getting comparative quotes from your local independent. Very often the customer service makes the whole experience and you'll often be surprised by the cost. Interest-free credit isn't all it's cracked up to be as you will be paying for it somewhere!

  • I also think your right in say more unhappy customers will post but if you read them they normally are from people who are the end of their tether with it all. They just cant offer the same service compared to independent showrooms or sole trader

Would it be worth it for free fitting?

Fitting is never free, you are paying for it somewhere else, they still have to make a margin out of it.

I did think that but as the offer's only for a month, I thought they might be drumming up business

They were doing it for much of last year too. It is a marketing ploy and the cost of the fit is built in to the cost of the units.

Salesforce are commision only and many are of the Moben "sign on the night" school.
  • I think that they must have improved their stuff since your post - I've looked hard at the sheds and Ikea and Tesco are just as good and they're offering a 15 year guarantee. We are going to use them as it was the best quote all round - not just on cost. the designer suggested some cracking ideas that will make my life a lot easier - if it turns out to be a rubbish service I'll certainly let you know.
