Me too - hairdresser -= dentist in my mind - they terrify me
Hello Cherisong
I'm so sorry I've been so utterly wrapped up in me over the past few months - I'd completely missed your diary start :eek::eek:
I wish you all things good
I'm starting reading from the start - any girl who wants a landy - iV a girl after the finer things in life
Which of course I knew anyway - as I'm relegated to bed - I'm enjoying catching up with eveyone!!!
Waves hello to lots of familiar faces ......................................I won't yap too much honest!!:rotfl:
:j:j Welcome Fay and thanks for popping over the fence. Yak all you like, I like a good chat. I Long for a Landy since I gave up any hope of getting a VW campervan. Maybe one day it will happen. Dont read all through you will just hear a mad woman yakking and lots of lovely people calming her down :rotfl::rotfl:Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Multi-tone red and coppers! Will look fab for the Autumn.
Glad you chose to go for it - fingers crossed for 24th Sept. As you say what will be will be.
MIL has an African Grey - Jake, as he has one leg that works! She thinks the world of him and when they go away I look after him. This involved using evasive tactics used by the SAS to ensure I do not lose a finger. He is pure evil .
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Jake is a good name. I called mine Coco because I dont know if he is a boy or a girl and that name can fit both, although he answers more to Cocoloco or Cokes. He is mad (note I call him he but no idea why). He adores me and loves cuddles and walking around the house. That is until my OH comes home for the weekend and I am dumped in favour of him and then I get the evil eye - you know the one, draws you in and then NIP. I do love him thoughSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. let us know what you choose in the end...so we can imagine it!
I am so unhappy with my hair this time. The hairdresser cut too many layers in it so it does it's own thing and ever since I dyed it, it has been really greasy and limpjust when I am wanting to look my best.
I bet you can't wait for the weekend!
WELL, I am back! If you hadnt already noticed. Where should I start. The beginning is usually a good place I guess.
Because I havent been to the hairdressers since 6th March :eek: (and this from the girl who had a regular cut every 6 weeks), the reason for this because I didnt like the colour I had last time it was very dark, my hair is a very mixed up colour of grey roots and grown out colour which had faded a lot. Recently a friend told me that when I had my sunglasses pushing my hair back that the grey (the bit by my face is very silver) actually suited me as it brought out my blue eyes. SO I was really undecided what to do. I ended up with a colourist who really knew what she was talking about and said that she also thought that the silver part really suited me. So that made my mind up that I want to perservere and get the colour out without having all the hair cut off. She suggested that she did some testing and perhaps did lots of silver streaks through the hair that is currently coloured so that it all blends in. Anyways, she did the tests and nothing worked, so we decided not to do anything with the colour today and she is phoning Clairol for advice :T She did a dry cut whilst waiting for the tests x3 colours to work with the view that I would have it washed and dried later. So in the end I came out having spent just £10 my hairstlye is nice too. Very MSE somebody is looking after me but it means that I wont be all glam for LondonShe is phoning me later to tell me what the colourists have said and then we will decide what to do from there.
I left the hairdressers and immediately the heavens opened and I ended up looking like a drowned rat. I was so glad that I hadnt just paid £40+ for the hair do.
Now I am back home, waiting for friends to arrive. I need to pop out again to get something in for tea and some money to spend in London from my savings account that. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. You were lucky to get someone so dedicated to her skills. Most with grey in the hair just suggest blonde highlights.
You will still look glam with your new hair and clothes and OH will be suprised.
Are you heading off tomorrow?0 -
The plan originally was to drive North tonight and then catch the train from up there with OH but as the friends that are staying living a fairly chaotic life and I have NO idea what time to expect them I have suggested he makes his way down and I will follow tomorrow by getting the train from this end. However I thought today that it would be quite nice to have 5 hours on a train on my own to read and watch the world go by. Also I have treated myself to a dongle so I can surf the net whilst out and about
I was a bit taken aback that the stylist suggested not colouring my hair. Then she was really clever at thinking of ways to get around the in between stage. She did three different colour tests for Ash Grey as there has been so much colour on my hair and she wanted to make sure that it would work. Seems that all of them wanted to remain a bit too golden which just wasnt working so she said that I might as well stick with what I have for now until she finds the solution. Also she was very pleased to be able to do something a bit out of the ordinary she said. I have decided to grow old disgracefully. Apart from which it will probably save me a fortune in the long run and I aim to be like Honour Blackman! HA if only. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Oooh Cheri my Nan was of Honor Blackman hair. Me I'm the dark side of mousey, my Dad had one of those strange solitary locks of hair that went silver in his 40's before the rest of his hair went salt and pepper. I seem to have inherited it.....bit it has emerged at on the top of my head ! I've decided to go with grey...
It sounds like you have a caring professional there, a good find.DC.

Now you see DC thats the problem, those two words together NAN and GREY :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Still as I have never been a Mum I can never be a Nan (unless OH's son has kids and decides he wants me to be their Nan of course)Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons.
