Well, that is mighty impressive. I am on a mission to cut my grocery bill this month so we will see how that goes. I went for a "big" shop the other night but after checking the cupboards I realised that I didnt need that much so it turned into a medium shop. In theory all I need to buy weekly now is fresh stuff like milk, eggs etc.

Thanks holmes (can I call you holmes?) that makes me think of Robert Downey Jnr (yum)!

I feel a little calmer this afternoon, thanks in large part to Moo2Moo for being my voice of reason. Now I have chatted with OH at lunch time too and I am decided that I should go with the friends option. It was the comment about what if I had to go into hospital that did it for me because I would absolutely need to sort something out at short notice and it would be unfair to Moo to be thrown into that situation. So I have now spent the afternoon trying to contact the friends to see what I can sort out. And wouldnt you know it they are AWOL :) Oh well, as I have said previously what is for me wont go by me.

    TADA List
    Moo walked
Moo and Coco fed and watered
Coco's cage scrubbed and cleaned to within an inch of its inanimate life
Breakfasted on homemade bread and jam
    dishes washed
First load of washing done and hung out on the line
    second load of washing in
bed stripped and waiting for third load
    hoovered in living room
recycled oak book case delivered from SH shop and I am now looking at it thinking what the heck have I done.
Sander found - needs new sand sheets - added to shopping list along with paint brushes for the tables
Cup of Earl Grey in hand and 25 beautiful homes being digested.
    • put the bins out
    • took the bottles to the bottle bank
    • started sanding down the cupboard
    • had lunch
    • hoovered the stairs/landing and bedroom
    • watched an episode of location location location on 4 od
    • surfed the net looking at small holdings - I can dream
    • 2nd and 3rd loads of washing completed and on the line
    • now having cup of earl grey and a slice of homemade apple and blackberry pie YUM

Plan for this evening is to keep trying my friends, I think I will watch You've got Mail to cheer myself up and have some homemade popcorn. But before all that I am going to go for a nice long walk on the beach, now where was the tide table

OH and I will have had my third no spend day in a row. (I didnt count the big shop as that was budgeted for) because I didnt get to the DIY store for the brushes

Sounds like you've made a good decision there Cherisong. Is it easy to get the garden secured temporarily? Sounds like you're having quite a productive day, and a film and popcorn after a nice walk on the beach sounds like a gorgeous evening! :j

Hi Cheery, yes I have the garden temporarily secured with two bits of the shed that is waiting to be put up. In fact Moo spent all yesterday evening in the garden with me whilst I primed my nest of tables ready for painting today. That should have been my last job on my TADA list before settling down to watch my film. However the evening did not go to plan. I had just made my popcorn, opened a beer (a real treat) and wandered back into the lounge to choose a film, I looked all glamourous with my hair tied up, old PJ bottoms, a big baggy tshirt and no makeup. Settled on the sofa, put the dvd of choice (you've got mail) into the laptop when I heard a whistle. Now at this point I must tell you that OH has a special whistle for the Moo and Coco. At first I thought it was Coco but no, he was sat on his perch head cocked to one side so I thought that I had imagined it, then I heard it again, at which point the Moo started to go potty and do his little dance on two legs that he does when excited. I sat quietly and listened then I heard OH voice. At this point I thought that I had lost the plot because I had just received a text from OH who was on the train to London. I went upstairs and opened the bedroom window. No sign of anybody, then I heard the whistle again so I shouted "who is there" in a very fierce, scary voice (well I thought it was) and out of the shadows of the front door pops OH.:j:j:j. He had decided to surprise me and come home instead of going to London! What a lovely surprise. So we had a very nice evening, despite me looking ever so glamourous, drinking wine and chatting. Had a very lazy day today just catching up with each other. He is now having a little afternoon snooze so I am doing some catching up before getting ready to take Moo out to the beach. Will be waking him up soon to come along with us.

Hope that you are all having a lovely afternoon.

Oh what a lovely surprise for you cherisong!! :j (even if you didn't get to watch your film! :rotfl:) How lovely :j

I must tell you I made popcorn last night too :j In fact, I *thought* I'd thought of it all by myself, but I now realise I only had the idea because I'd read you were going to make some :rotfl: Anyway, most of it stuck to the pan because I wasn't paying attention, but the bit I did get was nice! :rotfl:

    That's a lovely surprise :)
Now I don't think you are blowing it out of proportion at all. Doggy dilemmas like yours are known to but a few. I know things usually work themselves out, but it's just getting there that's the problem.
Hope you have a good day planned.

Thank you so much everybody for your lovely comments. Yes OH can be very romantic in his own way. I especially liked the time he brought me some new hunter wellies because he knew that I wanted some and because he couldnt get me any red ones (they are green) he wrapped them in the brightest red crepe paper that he could find. He left them on the doorstep when he headed off on a wet monday morning so when I went out later that morning there was a package waiting for me. Now most people wouldnt find wellies romantic but I find the remembering what I mention and doing something about it romantic. I am very appreciative of him and I too try to do romantic things for him.

Now the weekend was lovely and productive. On Saturday we did laze around quite a bit but then took Moo for long walks on the beach and stopped for a flask of coffee and homemade muffins on the beach too. Yesterday though I was a bit unwell in the morning so he left me in bed and walked Moo and made breakfast in bed for me. Then in the afternoon we built a temporary fence across the gap between the house and the fence (until we can get a gate built) which is very secure and Moo will be able to go into the garden whilst the friends stay. Then we cooked tea together and made more homemade muffins. I think my friends will be very surprised by the storecupboards when they arrive to stay. They are arriving on Wednesday evening which means that I can head to London the following morning. I am still a little concerned and apprehensive but I am sure all will be well.

Now today I need to get my booty into gear and clean, clean, clean. I am also going to blow some more of the budget and book a hair cut and colour on Wednesday and I may even book to have my eyebrows waxed! Ok not essential but I really feel that I have let myself go and I love having my hair done and it hasnt been done since March:eek: I nearly died when I realised that.
Back later with my TADA list as it keeps me motivated.
