I'd booked it for a special outdoor event and then it rained all day and I looked like a drowned rat so hey ho, it wasnt mean't to be.

I have been many different colours and styles (especially red) long, short, curly, straight. My natural colour is very grey and makes me look so pale, and I love the colour red.

I haven't booked my next cut as I'm not sure what I want to do, might go for a short layered bob for the winter and see how the colour goes, although I'll get roots pretty quick, but then I've coloured over the top of a pro-colour myself without too much trouble - apart from the time some of my hair went green and my mum paid a pro to fix it :rotfl:

I just can't justify £82 against a cut at £15 and a colour for about £6 in boots that is just as good - plus my hair needs colour to thicken it. So I've got to pay one way or the other!

Yes, I am fast going grey too. I have been thinking about not having it coloured at all, having a layered short bob and getting as much of the current colour out as possible. Parts of my hair are very silver and a friend commented the other day when I had my sunglasses pushed onto my head that it brought out my eyes and suited me. BUT then I think am I going to look really old? I might chat with the hairdresser see what she thinks. I could have done that with my old hairdresser he was great but not sure about this one at all. I too have been red very often, I love curly now and discovered (via my previous hairdresser) that I have naturally curly hair. My Mum laughed and said that yes, I had been born with a head full of curly dark hair and then when I was 3 my Nan took me to the hairdressers and had it all cut out. I dont remember but now I let it do its own thing and it goes quite wavy. I do, however need a good hairdresser to cut it right so that it doesnt just look like a wild womans.

I wish mine was curly, it did for a while especially when blond but its not doing it at the moment.

Went past the hairdressers this afternoon and I commented that I might try the one across the street - DH said no, these are good so stick to what you know - bet he wouldnt say that if he knew the price

Men always panic about the price of the hairdressers. Most men think £5 is too much for a haircut.

Woke up again at stupid o'clock for no apparent reason. Try as I might I couldnt get back to sleep. Given up and now sorting myself out for the day ahead. Friends arriving later to take over the house and look after Moo and Coco. Still feel a little concerned but trying to distract myself from the worry with housework and keeping busy.

The point of no return arrived yesterday. I did not withdraw my interest in the voluntary severance scheme so it is all guns blazing forward now. Should find out on 24th if I have been "successful". Until then I will distract myself with cheery things to do. Not convinced it will happen as the boss was planning meetings for me through to January and arranging visits to London in December. That is another thing that I am starting to notice with work. Because I am always planning months ahead I never live in the moment and I swear that it was only Christmas five weeks ago!!!!!

Plans for today include lots of spending unfortunately. I have decided to stop panicking about the budget this month, Que Sera as Doris sang.
Oooo I love Doris Day, haven't thought about her for ages, might go and dig out her CD and have a really cheerful Doris half hour later whilst dusting in the living room. Coco always loves a good bop to my 50s music.

Ooh, good luck with the severance scheme!

I must confess to not having been to the hairdressers for about, er, two or three years  I generally can't stomach the price :rotfl: And as my hair is long, and easily tied up, I tend to lop the ends off myself :rotfl: Does that make me an abomnable scruff?? (well yes, it does, but people don't tend to look at me like I'm mad!) Might treat myself to a proper cut one day, but not right now... :)

Oh dear, I should be dressed and ready to go by now but I have just got out of the shower, yes I washed my hair! Well going to the hairdressers is like having a cleaner, I wouldnt want them to think I am a scruff so I clean up before I go.
Cheery no you are not an abominable scruff. I bet though that you dont have half a head of grey hair needing to be tackled.

Now should I go red, burgundy or blonde

DC, in order to get that song out of your head try thinking of Dont eat the daisies instead, now there is a song to cheer you up.

Multi-tone red and coppers! Will look fab for the Autumn.

Glad you chose to go for it - fingers crossed for 24th Sept. As you say what will be will be.

MIL has an African Grey - Jake, as he has one leg that works! She thinks the world of him and when they go away I look after him. This involved using evasive tactics used by the SAS to ensure I do not lose a finger. He is pure evil .

let us know what you choose in the end...so we can imagine it!

I am so unhappy with my hair this time. The hairdresser cut too many layers in it so it does it's own thing and ever since I dyed it, it has been really greasy and limp :( just when I am wanting to look my best.

I bet you can't wait for the weekend!
