I would love to stay at home today, got that moochy feeling would like to potter about. Excellent progress on your mealplanning and financial planning. It sorts the clutter of the head out.DC.

Back from my meetings and with every day, my decision to apply for severance being the right think to do is reinforced. Why do people constantly take advantage of my good nature. DC reminded my of the Dalai Llama quote today about silence is sometimes the best answer. This came flooding back to me whilst in one meeting. I was mid stream in my sentence explaining to somebody how they could do something when I stopped mid sentence. They thought I had lost the plot because I just sat there. I told them that I couldnt remember what I was going to say. In fact I suddenly thought why am I doing their job for them and stopped. Onwards to my next meeting which was good and I enjoyed working with the young people BUT I also thought that I didnt want to have to go back and jump through hoops to make my management team understand the benefits of doing this work. SO I have come to a decision. Even if I am not accepted for the voluntary severance I will have a new life (minus this job) in whatever form it takes by my birthday in November. I must forumulate my requirements before doing my cosmic ordering. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. :T:T Great Decision:T:T
It just takes one little flash thought to confirm what you know is right. That 'what on earth am I doing ?' thing.
I know I shouldn't laugh but your meeting scenario played out like one of those sitcom TV moments, where timing is everything.
Am going to dust off by cosmic ordering book, need refreshing..DC.

Have to admit I did feel a bit David Brent, I guess that I overacted. It was like tumbleweed blowing past. You know the one, like that Reeves and Mortimer game show. I just went into meltdown. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Thanks, I need all the best wishes and positive vibes to make this happen. It will change my life, honestly in more ways than one.
No irons in the fire so to speak. I will have enough to see me through Christmas. I had started to say to a few friends recently that I left school at the age of 16 on a Wednesday afternoon, went to the careers office on the Thursday morning, had an interview on the Friday and started work the following Monday. Worked from that day to this (39 years) without so much as a month off! Obviously I have had holidays but never more than 2 weeks at a time. Never had a family so no maternity leave, no long term sick leave, no career breaks. Meanwhile al of my friends have either stayed home or taken career breaks at some point. Now I know that isnt unusual but I am just worn out and would love some time to take stock and have a break from the everyday routines of things. I have lots of ideas of what to do and I will be in the fortunate position (if I get the severance) to be able to work part time and do things a bit differently. But this all depends on getting that payment. Alternatively it is off with the job hunting head on and having a change of pace whilst still earning a decent wage.

Oops just realised I added 10 years to my life. :rotfl::rotfl: I meant 29 years! But it is still a long time (trying to convince myself now)Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Yay you're 10 years younger than you were this afternoon! :rotfl:
What a brilliant decision to come to. Fingers crossed that all goes right for you. And well done on your finances - you've just reminded me that I got paid today :T and therefore need to do a bit of moving and shaking... x0 -
10 years younger !! woohoo!
I turned 40 this year and OH and I have both agreed we want to make more out of this next decade.
I changed jobs this year too - I resigned before I knew I had something to go to I was so unhappy... Now I am earning less money, but have a much better work life balance and yesterday we decided to join the gym. my job initially was temp but may go perm soon... I am currently paid to help people - it is great!!
Now if I could just dump paranoia and fear of making mistakes I would be fine!!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
