Pity Chelmsford is so far from me, any other independent hair dressers doing this for 80 quid in the London area?:D

Which part of London are you? I know of a hairdresser in Hendon who does it for around £100 depending upon the length of your hair. It is where I am thinking of going. They seem to do a few a week.

I had it done a couple of months ago, and it's completely faded by now...

Having said that, if I'd the £200 again I'd do it. It was a one time treat which I cannot afford with regularity, but I was hoping it would last the entire 4 months they said it would... Maybe next year!:p

As for the shampoos, all they say is they need to be salt free (sodium chloride, nothing to do with sulfates, which people often confuse), and there's plenty of brands about, you just have to carefully read the labels, but even Boots sells salt free shampoos. Plus, I got a bottle of shampoo and conditioner as part of the treatment.

I know of a lady who does the Brazilian she lives in Uxbridge/ West Drayton area, so between us we could sort you out

I'm having this done in 2 weeks for my wedding, will be approx. £140. My hairdresser has been raving about it since January. He's based in Blackpool.

I'm looking into having this done but it costs around £200 in all of the places I've seen (there was one at £100 but then they wanted an extra £45 for the shampoo). Does anyone know of a reasonably priced hairdresser in the Liverpool area who does it?

  • Hi

I've actually just finished blow drying my hair after doing this treatment on Tuesday.

I got the QOD gold from ebay, paid £30 for 100ml (enough for 2-3 heads)

Anyway I washed my hair 3 times with the clarifying shampoo 3 times, blow dried it, and then carefully applied the solution, section by section with a tinting brush, I blow dried it again then had to run my straighteners through it 7 times (very small sections at a time)

Arms were aching when I finished as it took about 2 hrs to do the whole treatment.

Had to leave for 4 days so that the keratin could set before i washed it.

Washed it this morning and WOW !!! My has has never looked so good,TBH I wasn't convinced that it would work.I just rough dried it and then ran my straighteners through it one - it took less than half the time it usually does & I now have swishy shiny hair:)

My hair has been badly abused over the last 20 years or so - I colour it every 4 weeks, blow dry and use GHD's on it daily which would leave it looking like candy floss if i didn't use a cocktail of serums and potions on it.

    Feel like a shampoo advert................................

Just had a look at those on ebay - it is tempting but a bit scary as I've never done it/had it done before! Did you have any experience of it before you tried it?

Never done it before, but I did quite a bit of "googling" to get as much info as possible (seller also sent instructions).

I made sure that the seller I used had been trading for quite a long time,(selling hair products) and had plenty of feed back. There are apparently rogue ebayers selling counterfeit stuff,so be careful.

I couldn't find any "horror stories" about this treatment and came to the conclusion that the worst that could happen is that it wouldn't work !

IMO if you are used to straightening your own hair then its easy to do - I just followed the directions exactly and didn't cut corners.

I've never had it done professionally so have got nothing to compare it with but I'm extremely pleased with the result.

i've yet to ring up and get a rough price as i think it will be dependant on hair length and mines quite long.
i would estimate 150-200quid tho and you get the hair shampoo and that to take home i think free
