No probs Rainey LB - you had me completely confused there!

I often even confuse myself!!! :rotfl:

  • Hi ladies,

I'm a Mobile Hairdresser based in Chelmsford and have just started offering this service, it contains no chemicals, and is keratin based, which is the protein your hair, skin and nails are made of, therefore the more knackered and chemically processed your hair is the better the results, even bleached hair. NO, NO , NO the chemical straightener is only a better option if you have totally virgin hair, and is pretty curly! Thae shampoo you have to use is sulphate free one, I give a 50ml bottle to my clients inc in their treatment. Tony and Guys Bed Head range do a few sulphate free, which can be purchased from a lot of outlets these days. If you don't use the right shampoo the treatment will wash out instantly, using the right one could give you upto 4 months, as the treatment naturally washes out, it can be done as often as you like.

I charge from £80. It is taking the UK by storm. you don't need to go to major salons to have it done. The lady that paid £175 and it didn't take, did you go back and tell them? You should have done as it might not have been done correctly, its a lot of money to pay and not be happy with th results

I am thinking of having this done but dont like straight hair just hanging round my face. I want a straight bob but with some lift at the top - does the Brazilian do this or is it more like the Yuko system where it is completely flat on top?

I had it done a couple of months ago, and it's completely faded by now...

Having said that, if I'd the £200 again I'd do it. It was a one time treat which I cannot afford with regularity, but I was hoping it would last the entire 4 months they said it would... Maybe next year!:p

As for the shampoos, all they say is they need to be salt free (sodium chloride, nothing to do with sulfates, which people often confuse), and there's plenty of brands about, you just have to carefully read the labels, but even Boots sells salt free shampoos. Plus, I got a bottle of shampoo and conditioner as part of the treatment.

Pity Chelmsford is so far from me, any other independent hair dressers doing this for 80 quid in the London area?:D

Do you think you could swim if you have this done?? ie does chlorine have negative effects? I'm presuming saltwater swimming is totally out :)

sorry for the delay, so far in my experience it isn't totally flat, as you don't apply the product direct to the root area, but if you have got naturally limp hair it won't help the situation

It is a shame you're not local, but don't be to disheartened my prices START at £80 for short hair, rising to £175+ for the longest thickest hair.

The main ingredients to look out for that must NOT be in the shampoo are sodium laurel sulphate, and sodium laureth sulphate. Ammonium laurel sulphate is in the la brasiliana shampoo I supply, but is considered sodium free. So with that if they are sulphate free, they will be sodium free! This is so confusing!

I have been researching shampoos to give my clients a list of easily obtainable options.

Forgot to say it all depends on how often you wash your hair, on how long it last, but if you have it done again but with not to much of a gap it should last longer

Sea water is a no, no. Chlorine should be ok as long as its not prolonged and everyday, and its washed asap.

Sorry for taking over this thread, but I'm so excited about this product, I can't help getting involved with chats.

    Good luck
