Haven't you heard? He's been in hospital having surgery on his back.

What happened was, he was in ASDA, stocking up on cut price ham n' cheese sandwiches. Unfortunately, he's only small, so as he was eagerly leaping up to grab the bargains, he accidently fell in the reduced items trolley and tore a muscle.

"Bejaysus, what a pretty pickle!" he was heard to moan. "Call me an ambulance, The Edge!"

"you're an ambulance, Bono!" said The Edge.

"ho ho ho, you certainly are a card The Edge!" said Bono, in obvious pain. "to be sure, to be sure!"

Have you considered hand delivering a petition to No.10, it could be brought up at PM's Question Time.

Its quite possible the store told your MP they thought you were "Nuts!", or that your MP mentioned to them that there was the slight chance you were "emotionally unbalanced", or "Nuts!" for short.

You could try wearing a hat and sunglasses, or even a Bart Simpson Mask, sneak back in the store where you could then hover around inconspicuously by the reduced items aisle, up until you can strike back with a vengeance.
