I am making this thread because i am at my wits end, I am seeking some advice -With my experiences at My local asda store in halifax.

The incident occurred at the beginning of the year, the first week, i buy the odd reduced items on tins and other assorted goods to save a bit of money, the lady brings them out which before you was allowed to help yourself from the trolley but about a month ago no public customer was allowed anything on that trolley until it is put on the shelfs, i do not know why there was a change in policy.

Now an asian bloke shouted out you cant do that when i went to put some items in my trolley, a women who was security said to both of us "If you want anything you do what i say and you will all be watched".

What next ? Well first on several occasians i received abuse from sections of the asian community, including racial profanity and threats, i stood in shock as these happened and i went and told two employees in asda, i then also told customer services at asda and they just accused me of giving abuse back myself, and i just stated plainly that i didnt say a word, now i told customer services the lady who is in charge of the reduced items was there while most of this happened and i got accused by several customers of giving profanity to them, and the trolley lady who was there at the time stated "He has not said anything to anyone, who are you talking about?".

If this experience wasnt bad enough, something worse happened - It was monday 11th january after the doors had just opened, i went in for some bananas and i saw the woman who stacks the reduced items, she was out with the trolley, i went up to see what was there and she said to me "If theres anything you want ill pass it you" so i said thanks and she passed me several items after checking the prices with her and was just about going to pay for them but the lady i mentioned earlier in security said "Get your hands off that trolley" and i just said i have not touched it, and she tells me to "shut up, or you will be barred" and then i only said again i have not touched anything, then she said "Right, you are barred, get out" so i just left my trolley where it was as she told me to leave it, and walked out, she called for a man to watch me as i walked out.

(Just to let everyone know, if you want some bargains, always go early in the morning at about 8' o clock just as they come out with the trolley)

Now i do not buy just reduced items, i do normal shopping for myself and for my mother as she tells me what she wants and workmates may ask me to drop them somethings off aswell. And even when i take items to the checkout the employees always have a face on saying like "do you have to always bring this much to me? I have to take the stickers off" and i just says well im sorry but it is your job.
I now have no alternative but to travel to the store in dewsbury, and as i have no motor myself and have to use public transport it can be expensive.

Now i have gone to many lengths to get this problem sorted, i sent many letters to asda about this and received 4 different stories from them about what "happened", which eventually turned out to be me being racist, these concurrent story changes makes it even worse as i stuck to mine, i even went to seek help from my local labour mp and she agreed with me that it was disgraceful and she would try to get something done in london, i also have tried to get help of my local CAB, i have tried to take this to my lawyer but no avail as he said its a racial matter, i tried taking it to my local newspaper but they havnt replied, i took it to the head office and they explained that they it is up to the seperate stores to decide who to let in and ive tried talking to the manager but they wont see me as soon as i mentioned who i am, they say he doesnt want to speak to me, i have never talked to him, i took it to the bbc but havnt again received no reply, i tried watchdog and as they are so busy there reply wasnt what i was hoping for, i talked to the police and again they can find no reason why this would happen and there is nothing they can do, they said i just shouldent go in anymore if that is what is happening.

So i took measures into my own hands and excersised my right to free speech, i made a banner and stood outside asdas head office warning people not to shop here for reduced items, or risk being barred for life, within 10 minutes an employee named jordan asked me to come inside and talk about it, but he just said we are sorry for what has happened but we cannot do nothing about it, what the manager says goes - i tried to tell them i did nothing wrong but they wouldent listen, i kept reporting everything.

This whole ordeal has been very stressful, i had received racist comments and been barred from local store for seemingly no reason whatsoever, i have received letters from different departments at asda stating that i have been barred simply because i was the one who had used racial profanity in the first place against staff and customers and this is a blatent lie, i would enclose pictures of the letters received, including from my mp but they are not very clear so i apologize, if anyone is interested in them i will take the rough pictures and a statement included and send you them via email.

If anyone knows ANYTHING i can do or have had similar problems in the past, please dont hesitate to say something.

To be honest, I would tend to agree with the police that not shopping there any more is probably the best thing - your whole story is a mish mash of accusations on both sides with very little way of being able to prove any of what you say, and to be honest, I think involving your MP is possibly overkill. If you are not happy with the service you receive or the way you are treated, then avoid the store and take your custom elsewhere.

ETA - If I were you, I would remove your real name and definitely your phone number from your post.

Is this for real? You've been to CAB, seen a solicitor and your MP? Why are you wasting your energy over this? It seems an absolute pointless waste of time to me - over what, some reduced foods? Even your solicitor didn't want to know - does that not try to tell you something? They'll try and suck blood from a stone if they can and clearly yours knows it's a no go-er.

Go to a new supermarket for your food and buy the value range if you are short on cash.

By the looks of it there are 2 Tescos and a Somerfeild in halifax, so this is really really OTT.

If it where my OH where the only supermarkets are Asda and Netto's then id be inclined to push this but when their are adequate alternatives it seems a massively stupid waste of every bodies time.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

The reason the trolley/shelf sittuation has changed is because there were too many Pillars of the community. Squabbling over the reduced goods. There were crowds round the shop workers as they reduced the items grabbing snatching pushing and generally lowering the tone of the place.

Probably the same sort of customer that munch pies whilst walking round the shop before paying for them. pmsl
