hmm was feeling very positive earlier but not anymore!

currently got £270 in my MS account and a £77 cheque to pay in :) counted my coins which i am saving for xmas and only needed £30 more to reach the amount i have budgeted for xmas pressies :T decided to pay £60 into holiday fund as i should have pleanty of time to save that again plus the £30 needed. so that means i will have about £370 once i have paid the £25 payment to cc which is great as means i will hit my target of £750 in the holiday fund by next time i am paid :jplus will no doubt get some more ms payments!

however this month i have had to pay £50 for water bill, £25 for wedding pressie, £30 for my spa voucher i bought on my cc last month and mums present (not sure how much that is as she bought it). as i only started new budget etc... middle of last month i have not yet managed to save any each week to be used towards presents so they have had to come out of my salary.

have now registered for online billing with vodafone and had a horrible shock. new bill is for £80 :eek::eek: it is about £40 per month and i was paying £10 insurance, now cancelled but still on latest bill. i have spent £30 on calls to numbers not included in my free minutes. over £20 was on calls to co-op re mortgage which is soooo annoying as it is a 0800 number but need to pay from my mobile. and over £6 was on calls to HMRC re tax return (still not sorted either  complaint is on way to them with copy of bill!!).

so i have about £150 left over after all things listed in 1st post and my £40 pw budget. need to use that to pay for all of above but is going to be a bit short. already reduced weekly budget to £30 pw to cover extra £20 i took to wedding. so not looking good :( i will only have to apy about £160 this month in rent if my completion date is when i have requested so i will have about £200 left from that. but i want to put that towards 1st mortgage payment which they have t9old me will be £1000 eeekk  so means i will have to try and be even more frugal.

speaking of which food budget seems to be dissapearing at alarming rate :( but have now done food plan and will try and stick to that religiously so no wastage and not much needed to buy. aiming to eat as much as poss of all food left in cupboard and freezer so i dont need to cart it all to new house. ,eans i need to save some food budget from this month for next month though as that will be a massive shop!

so my aim for the rest of this month is going to be to not use any of the MS money or the £200 left over rent and still end the month on zero rather than in the non-interest free part of overdraft! feel a lot of NSD coming on (just as well as not had any yet!). aiming for first one tomorrow! :p

woohoo 1st NSD :) think i will leave all the running around till next weekend or the one after so will stay indoors tomorrow and do the jobs above. can buy a banana for my smoothie from tesco express at top of rd and then buy rest on tuesday on way home from work. means i can have a NSD tomorrow (i am not counting food from food budget as spends). need to go into city one day during week at lunchtime to get fringe trimmed. can pay in cheque and coins as well. might wait until thursday and see if i can pick up a MS to do whilst i am there :)

also want to look up a dentist and sort out joining different doctors. am planning on making a list of all i need to do before moving in and allocating weekends.

woohoo someone has bid on one of my items and another few have watchers :)

just done an estimated budget for bills and think will be about £250pm for gas, elec, water, internet, tv, phone and council tax. added to my repayment to dad, mobile, gym, hair, petrol, food and weekly spends i should be able to afford everything provided get lodger who can pay £300 per month.

will easily be able to get this amount, this is about going rate for mon-fri lodger, should be able to get about £380 maybe more for full time. there is a friend at work who if she gets kept on permanetly will hopefully lodge mon-fri so that will be great :) like the idea of this as then get house to myself at weekends and also live with someone i know and like. also as i know her will be happy for her to move in straight away, if get a stranger will not want them to move in till i get bk from holiday . will also save some money with mon-fri person as reduction in council tax (they will pay elsewhere) and slightly reduced bills for water, gas and elec hopefully.

just want to get moved in so i know how much it is costing and how much i will end up owing mum!

will always have MS money for back up should bills be higher than expected but want to use that for debt repayments so will try to manage without using it.

i have now finished my second module at work so as i am halfway qualified get a 3k payrise :T:j this will not take effect until i get my results letter (not till feb) and will prob not start being paid til april. but it is backdated from now so can use lump sum to pay off most of cc when i get it! not sure how much it will be each month as they accidently paid us that rate a few months ago and worked out alot more than i thought. my friend passed hers in time for this exam cycle so she she should get paid that soon so i can ask her what take home is to help me plan :)

right, off to do some more surveys!:(

    Oh dear :(

You'll have to use his toothbrush to clean the toilet when you move out :)

    I second that!
  • Aloha! Found it and thoughht it was very interesting! Love that fact that your Mum checks on you! Spooky, I'm from Norwich, not living there now but here this week visiting my Mum! I might stalk Tesco Express and check you're not buying chocolate!

I have a cunning plan, buy some really cheap, nasty toothpaste and leave in the bathroom and hide some nice stuff in your room!

Will post more later, not going to spend all day on the computer, going to talk to Mum and grumpy Dad who wasn't interested in how much gardening I did yesterday!

Em, if you recall I told you all last year they were an embarassment & you should buy new ones :D.

Hope you managed to get a lie in after all that, well done on getting through it all :T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Gosh, but someone's been a busy little bee, feel quite exhausted just reading all that (where's a fainting smilie when you need one) and must go for a lie down. Preferably not on your sitting room/kitchen/bathroom floor though....
will no doubt be !!!!ed people sleeping on floor but i can just wake them up - By trampling all over them I trust??? :j:j:j

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Seriously though, I do feel your pain and would never go back to flat sharing.

not got much to update, had survey back and appears to be a problem with chimney and boiler so need to investigate further :( but had contract sent through so thats good (although not signing till those issues sorted).:A - Hopefully it'll turn out to be nothing, surveys always have to put the wind up you somehow (I believe). Do you have access to someone who's good at DIY stuff to help out with any work that needs doing?

Fingers crossed the chimney expert finds nothing too untowards on Tuesday.

    Yay!

    DOUBLE YAY! :beer::T:beer:
currently looking at backpacks for my holiday, were £130 for a good one in shops i went in today but no way i am paying that!

Ack! What sort of rucksack are you looking for? I used the TT40 for my recent 3 month trip round SE Asia and would thoroughly recommend (unless you planning on doing a lot of hillwalking/trecking with heavy loads). I do tend to travel light however.
