not feeling very well today :( woke up with spliting headache (no alcohol involved!!) and it has remained all day despite all the water, paracetamol and asprin i have had  only just gone and now i feel very tired so dvd in bed i think!

have been quite busy day, had a lie in as i was working till 12.20 last night out with the police doing pub inspections. was very interesting :)

once i got up i read my lonely planet magazine and had a yummy bacon butty then went and did 3 mystery shops and an audit. Also went and posted my laptop to hp so cashback will hopefully arrive soon!

Good day money wise i have only spent £1.62 on parcel tape and bread. Not counting the cost of postage (£10.99 ) as this is reimbursed from hp so just used ms account to pay for it. also earnt £48.50 from mystery shopping :D:T goimg to have a play on online bingo now as got some money left on my account!

have checked bank account and only have £95 to last until i am paid on 19th. not going to last as i will need about £50 for petrol to get to manchester and to get to where my audit is. means will have to dip into ms account so less for spending moneu fund :( looking forward to payday as can start afresh as will be 1st full month of money saving :)

busy day tomorrow, after the success of last sunday i would like to-
    • tidy and clean room inc changing bed
    • do washing
    • type up all 3 ms reports from today
    • go swimming
    • sort out online banking
    • sort out info solicitors requested
    • paint nails
    • clean inside car and also outside windows
will see how much i get done. off for popcorn and film now :) gossip girl series 3 should arrive soon. was pre-ordered for my bday :)

Aw bless, thought you were quiet yesterday! Good luck on getting through everything, can't believe you are actually going to clean inside of car

have made a start today :) so far i have-
    • done washing (on line- yey for sun):p
    • cleaned car (might need to re-do seat to get stain out, will check when dry)
    • typed up two reports
    • registered for online banking with barclays and re-registered with nationwide
    • updated log on details for other accounts with egg. love egg money manager, saves soo much time when want to look at all accounts :)
have also tried to calculate debt free date (difficult due to time frames on debts, changes in income etc...) i am on a career progression scheme at work with guaranteed payrises when i get certain qualifications. i will be getting a payrise in april 2011, not sure of exact amount but hope to be about £150 month per month take home. i have got this qualification this month but cannot get payrise until exam board letter which wont arrive till next feb and payrise may not come in until april. however it is back dated from now so with that i can clear the credit card :)

then i will get my final payrise either aug 2011 or april 2012. this will also be about £200 per month i think. when i reach this stage i am not allowed any other type of employment so will not be able to do mystery shopping anymore. as i will only be about £50 worse off i am happy with this as it means i can get my free time back! :D so even if i get my final payrise next aug my income will be similar to if i dont as i will still be doing mystery shopping at that time.

based on these figures, i should have cleared my credit card, all money owed to dad and my overdraft by december 2011 :D

i am very very pleased with this as if i just carried on paying dad at the current rate (the original monthly repayment for loan of £188 per month) it would not be cleared until april 2013. if dad had not cleared the loan when he got his money i would still be paying the loan until about oct 2013 so either way that is cleared much quicker.

i will then owe mum however much i need to borrow for the house for fees, furniture, months i dont have a lodger etc.. i have £2k for this already so hoping i will not need to owe her more than £2k. i do not need to repay this until i have paid dad. if i do owe this i hope to cleared it by march 2012 at the latest. i should have a clearer idea once i have moved into house and bought what i need.

however this date is only based on the extra money i will get from mystery shopping and payrises so if i stick to my budget and manage to cut back i will be able to pay it off quicker :)

i have now given myself a large goal to work towards- in summer 2012 i would like to go to peru and bolivia and do the incca trail, salt flats and camp in the amazon jungle :D i would like to do this and pay for it in full so that when i come back i wil not owe anything! it will cost at least £4k to go for a month so i need to ensure debt IS repaid early so that i can do this.

i am so glad i worked this out as i had no idea when my debt free day would be and had no idea it would be so close! the thing that most depressed me about my debt and money saving is that i could not do more travelling as i want to do as much as i can while i am young. this has cheered me up no end and has really motivated me to ensure i stick to my goals!

from the 19th when i get paid i am going to change the way i budget by-
    • giving myself a £40 weekly budget starting the day i get paid. the 4th weeks budget will have to last until i get paid again so i will need to ensure i try not to plan expensive things for this week.
    • If there are any notes left over (which i intend there to be most weeks:o) i will put this in a box at home to be used for any very expensive things like weekends away, presents etc... i will aim for about £70 in this box, if i get over that, all money will go towards debt busting!
    • all coins at the end of the week will go into the appropriate piggy (inc £2 and £1) to be used to buy all xmas presents with (currently about £100 in them i think)
    • i am going to continue the seperate food budget but will ensure i manage this more effectively and on the months when i do not need to buy all the stuff to batch cook i will make sure i keep a bit back to go towards this the following month.
    • if i give in and have to buy some junk food eg chocolate at work, sweets in evening, ice cream when out etc.. i will not use the food budget for this as it is not 'real food'. this will come out of the weekly budget.
    • Aim for 12 NSD a month. i will not count food purchases as spends if they are 'proper food' and are paid for from food budget. i know i will save up stuff i need to buy to get it in one day but if it means i manage to resist buying stuff i dont need like snacks, mags, coffee etc.. then it is still good!
    • if there is anything left in main bank account at end of month i will use it towards repaying a debt. there should be until i move into my house but i do not know exactly how much bills will be yet or how much rent i can charge
dates will be updated when i know how much i owe mum, exactly what payrise is etc... :)
will update my sig on the day before payday to show it at its worst each month

phew, just cleaned room and stripped bed! spilt abit of water on bed from glass on table so cant make it yet as is a bit damp! oops! just having a little rest and installing my printer as need to print stuff for tomorrow.

very hungry now, looking forward to my stew and pastry. best of all it only cost about £1 per portion! may go over to the old style board (is that what its called?) and have a look for receipes and tips to cut food spending.

was lazy and went to tesco express to pick up the few bits i need and spent just under £4! pleased to report none of it was junk food, just as well as not going to make swimming tonight as still got jobs to do! got £3.38 in purse to last till fri so not sure if i will make it lol! although only need 60p for salsa tomorrow, cant think of anything i need to buy so maybe i will make it!

once this is installed i am going to have dinner then write up remaining report and sort out solicitor info and make bed. then bath then paint nails! busy night ahead :p

  • woooo on the mortgage :j

You must be over the moon. Have a beer to celebrate

And £35 for a bed is just ridiculously cheap. Realise everyone may have already suggested this, but have you tried Freecycle for furnishings? Sometimes you get some good stuff on there.
