Sunnyone I just wanted to add a little moral support for you; I'm the same in that my husband is my reason for living; strength and coping vibes for you. (((HUG)))

Thankyou all for your support, it means alot.

We have had another very long day at the hospital while my husband had loads more tests and there is a small bit of good news in that his coronary artery has no blockages but the small brain bleed (huh!) that he had at the end of last year was a fair sized stroke that has left him with a big blood clot in his brain which is causing some of his problems now.

Hes stayin on the renal ward for a few more days for more tests (and hopefully they will find out if he has any other cardiac problems apart from angina) but it wasnt the kidney failure causing his confusion, inability to talk and falling over which is another good thing I suppose.

I echo SH here sunnyone, I really don't know what to say.
Make sure you keep eating and drinking and having plenty of rest during this stress as I know these tend to be the last thing on our minds when loved ones are very ill in hospital but you do need to, otherwise you will become ill too.

Take care and all our love

    xx
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
  • Singlesue - I'm sorry I haven't got back to you, for some reason my meds were reacting with the yoghurt I was using to make swallowing them easier which gave me ridiculously nasty stomach cramps and sickness. Now, having recovered from that I am coming down with a cold or something (feels like the beginning of flu but I've had the jab) so I'm pretty much bed bound for however long this has a grip on me.

Sunnyone - Does the school know about whats happening with your kids home life? If not it may be worth talking to someone and asking them to put some support in place, and get them to pass on to all the necessary teachers not to give them a hard time if they don't seem to be listening in class or haven't done their homework.... Perhaps not right this moment though, I'm sure you're just trying to keep your head above water as it is. My thoughts are with you.

    AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

    Sorry, I needed that!

Got my new debit card in the post today - the bank have mis-spelled my name! So I had to steel myself to ring them, and they have to cancel it and send me another one. Just hope I don't need to withdraw money from that account any time soon.....

As if that's not enough, I took a script into the pharmacy yesterday, 3 items - they asked could I come back today (no, but can get Mr LW to take me tomorrow). This afternoon, they phoned him (we gave HIS mobile number as I loathe using the phone) apparently the anti-d's I have are no longer being made in 300mg tablets, only 150mg. No problem, I can just take 2x150mg instead of 1x300mg.... "Oh, no, you'll have to get a fresh script, we can't just issue the 150mg ones".

So Mr LW had to ring the surgery and set that up; luckily they were OK about it, and will get the Duty Doctor to do a script for me to pick up tomorrow morning.

I know it's all small stuff in the grand scheme of things, but it's all so maddening! Specially for someone with a telephone phobia, and I can't go anywhere unless Mr LW's available to take me. I'm still shaking after speaking with the bank's call centre!:o

Anyways, I hope life's treating my friends here a little more nicely than it has been of late - (((HUGS))) in a neat pile, help yourselves.:D

Sue - hypermobility EDS and BJHS are regarded as the same thing by the experts now, as of a Hypermobility Syndrome Association conference a few months ago. EDS is taken more seriously, generally.

    LW - thank you! *hug*

Wrist is in, still tender but not nearly as sore as my mouth after having three teeth removed. I'm now missing all my molars on the lower right side, so won't be able to chew on that side for quite a while. :( They've increased my morphine to deal with both wrist and face - the wrist is not feeling anything now but the face still is. Very, very sore, and I'm still groggy from the anaesthetic and sedative they used - midazolam and a mixture of something new (he didn't say what, just that it wasn't the traditional local anaesthetic, and it did work better than others mostly do on me, as I requested he do it intraligamentary which is said to do better on EDS patients). Feeling pretty rough, so holing up, trying to keep down the soft food which is all I'm allowed to eat this week, and hide in bed.

I hope everyone is doing better this week. *hugs all 'round*

That was one of the things the consultant was going on about except he didn't agree they were one and the same....I was dying to tell him that it had been accepted now but the appointment was already going completely wrong, so thought it best not to antagonise him anymore.:D

  • LameWolf - I know what you mean about small things, things have been messed up with my script lately too and you know it's not their fault but you can't help raging inside anyway, and I really understand the phone phobia although mine seems to be a lot less severe than yours. Annoying now as we can't afford a land line now so I have to give out my number to the DWP etc, on the plus side I live with my mum so a lot of the time I get her to phone up and pretend to be me :D She knows all the 'security' questions etc and it's with my permission so technically I don't think she's breaking the law.. Although from memory I think it's me that has chased up anything to do with benefits which is what all the phone calls have been about lately *sigh* No doubt costing me a bomb to be put on hold for 10 minutes before a call back too.

On the plus side, to cut a long story short, we're getting a new bathroom suite soon which will make a huge difference :D Also, I ordered some leopard print crutches which came remarkably quickly, ordered about 3pm on one day and they arrived at 11am the next!
