Trialia, hope you manage to get the chesty stuff sorted before it takes hold. Nasty.
I've been a proper poorly person. Turns out whilst I was in hospital with the exploding appendix I also had bi-lateral pneumonia. Would have been nice if they had told me and sortta explains a lot of other problems I was having once I was discharged! Now appear to be developing a cold, so am obviously quite concerned about the whole situation. Have to book appointment for a repeat chest xray next week to see if it has resolved, so hopefully that will bring to light any continuing problems.
Have really had a year from hell in terms of health and in the back of my mind is a bit of a worry that health is now completely breaking down - you know what it's like, I'm sure. Also desperately need to move now from my beloved house as I can't afford it any longer.

I think you deserve a bit of a rant after being that ill! Glad you're on the mend though :T

I'm being very sensible (for once in my life according to a friend *g*) and keeping warm and will worry about cost later. Also stepping up the hot baths so I can steam my head iyswim. Have changed to paying utilities monthly by dd so at least I can spread the cost although before this I was already paying £89 a month!I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
*hugs CWTA very carefully*
I guess I'm lucky in that I got the pneumonia jab two years ago - otherwise that rotten thing last winter would have been worse than a nasty bout of bronchitis. I feel for you, though. I'm really glad you're getting better! *hugs again*Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

Thanks everyone. Trialia, I had the pneumo job a couple of years ago too! But apparently the pneumo was a side effect of the infection from the appendix. You get used to feeling grotty, so how was I to know that appendix was infected until it exploded.
I'm still quite shocked by the whole thing really.
I've also learned that the pneumo jab is a bit like the flu jab, can only protect you against certain types of iyswim. Must admit it's not something I know much about.
How is your chest now? Improving I hope. You all tucked up warm too?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
p.s. Trialia, I had to call out my Doc for a home visit the day after I came out of hospital. I'm registered with the surgery at my Dad's address although I have moved out of their catchment area. My old GP who is now retired agreed to me staying registered there for continuity of care. They still agreed to come out to see me although I do only live about 2 miles from surgery, so it doesn't necessarily rule out a home visit if you need it. There's also the out of hours docs if you get really poorly and need to see someone.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0

Got my appointment through for rheumatology on Saturday, only referred last Monday and go up at the beginning of Jan...quite impressed with the speed to be honest.
Had my work focused interview on Friday at the job centre and I think I confuzzled my lone parent advisor...she saw me with the crutch, asked me what has been going on and then said "I take it you have your blue badge and have claimed DLA", to which I replied that those things are for disabled people and I am not disabled, just falling apart a bit.
Don't think she could quite get her head around my point of view to be honest. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
