Gentle (((HUGS))) Trialia. Words fail me; bad enough to take the laptop, but your medication?? It beggars belief.:(
I don't keep my files on the netbook, I have everything on USB flash drives, so if the netbook got stolen, hopefully they wouldn't look at the unprepossessing little cloth bag containing my photo album, recipe collection, and everyday working stuff. It's also all backed up elsewhere, as well.
Singlesue good luck when you do eventually have your procedure done; in the mean time, I suppose I'd be wasting my breath to tell you to take it easy? Yeah, thought so.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
God only knows where the appropriate section is to post this but Crocks Cafe seemed relevant!
Last Jan I took up running, big mistake as within 6 weeks I had a slipped disk although at that time I didnt know what it was & continued to run through the pain. 6 months later I had an episode of pain so bad I couldnt think let alone move & only very strong drugs touched it. 2 Days later the pain had completely gone & I was scheduled an mri which happened about 6 weeks later. The results showed a large protrusion on one of the lower disks (I forget which one 5:1?)& the doctor I saw after said he was surpised it wasnt causing me pain as apparently it should have been! Anyway 6 months has passed without major incident, the odd twinge aside, and I am due back to see him next tuesday, however today I stepped off a large step & felt a small amount of pain, its basically across my lower back, it feels muscular & is by no means painful, but I can feel it if you know what I mean! Obviously I am concerned that it will get worse but could this just be a pulled muscle which has me thinking the worst? I f*king hope so! Todays pain is all the way across my lower back, doesnt feel painful as such rather just a sensation, difficult to describe. Anyone else experienced similar & can make an educated guess as to what ive done/how best to combat it?
Thanks guys/gals0 -

Hugs back, and thanks.
I have backups on my external hard drive, but only as far as September - I make a habit of backing up my whole laptop every three months, and when the last one was due, my laptop had broken down and needed repairing, and I didn't have time between when I got it back and when it was nicked to do the backup, so I've lost everything from the last three months, and I am so angry about that. I also can't decant my backup from my external onto this borrowed laptop so I can use it, because the laptop hard drive isn't big enough. Got to wait 'til April when I can get a new one. *sigh*Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
Awww Trialia, real bummer.:( We do a major backup monthly; I schedule it for the last weekend of the month, and Mr LW doesn't get fed til he's done his computer.;) Have you managed to get some morphine to replace that stolen? I'd be in deep doo-doo if my morphine went missing, so I really do feel for you.
Darth Marty sorry, no guesses as to what's going on with your poor back, but a warm welcome to the Cafe; pull up the most comfy chair for you (the basket in the corner is mine):D and make yourself at home.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I thought the cafe must of closed it took so long to find it.
:rotfl:
I hope everyone is as well as can be expected & just wanted to share some exciting (at least I thing it is) news.
I've been asked to participate in a research study into the effect faulty BRACA genes have & whether they cause Cancer. :j
It sounds so interesting, all they need is some of my blood, hair follicles & some of the Cancerous tissue removed.
Hopefully they are onto something as I was tested for the Cancer causing BRACA gene which I didn't have but they commented on how my genes were faulty. Obviously quite a few people must of had the same result hence the new study.
I so excited that they might be on the way to finding out what causes this awful disease & hopeful that once they have they can find a cure.
I'm so happy that I can help even in a small way. :A0 -

Just had a strange thing happen.
Mother in law died approx 5 years ago of breast cancer and lived around 80 miles from us, although she often stayed, especially when she was unwell. My GP surgery just called to say that they had had an urgent message left to say my MIL was staying and was unwell, and they were asking me to confirm that I wanted them to visit and that my MIL was here with me at my home. They had her name and her date of birth...yet she never registered with them (she had her own GP)
Made me feel quite strange, a real message out of time.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
