Lady M, the author of that blog, Kaliya, is someone I consider a good friend. :) She also has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, like me, and she's otherwise known as @bendygirl on Twitter...

*sighs* After seven weeks, I am still waiting to hear back about my ESA migration. And given some of my post appears to have been going missing - I never received the appointment letter for one I was supposed to have in early October, or the cancellation of one that was supposed to be tomorrow - I'm starting to get very worried. Not being able to make phone calls doesn't help...

black paw, I like your listed location. Have you seen the new mini episodes from the Doctor Who season 6 box set, yet? I have ALL THE FEELINGS. I swear Steven Moffat will be the death of me one day!

  • Has everyone wandered off somewhere else (I do hope the silence doesn't mean everyone is having a rough time? :()

Noone mind if I settle a while and help myself to a virtual large brandy and lots of ice cream? Mr Morphine objects to the former and the latter causes too much pain but I deserve them after finally finishing middle son's DLA forms. Got an appointment on Tuesday with his doctor to do the "other person" page and it can go in the post. Bit late as it expires at the beginning of January but I've been dodging it and too busy arguing with my pancreas to be able to sort it.

Had a chat with my doc earlier this week and asked if I was ok to have a glass of bubbly at Christmas (I have autoimmune chronic pancreatitis) his response made me laugh, he said "have as much alcohol as you want but remember alcohol = pain and you're not allowed to take extra morphine to cope" Luckily I wasn't planning to get blotto:rotfl:

I'm still here although not posting too much.

My rental wheelchair has to go back to the red cross, going to miss that thing, it really opened up all new opportunities for the boys to go out and about. We could actually go to the town centre and have a good look around, I could go to a concert with middle son which without the chair, would have been impossible (parking distance, lots of standing etc) and the lovely walks along the sea front.

Ok, it wasn't used every day, maybe once or twice a week but it made one hell of a difference...will be sad to see it go.

Been back up to the docs this week, he has increased my over night pain medication again and is getting increasingly frustrated at my refusal to take stronger pain meds during the day but I need to be able to drive, I would rather be in pain than not be able to drive (I am actually ok driving pain wise, the problem comes when I start moving about). He has also said he would support an application for a blue badge if I felt the need to do one (yep, still not done it...naughty me but I am getting there on the acceptance of my 'problems')

He is also finally referring me to physio for my shoulder......thank goodness.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'm quite busy with work as ever, had a really, really busy week last week and coped better than I would have thought. From time to time I forget to take my painkillers as I feel good and then bang! I don't. Praying that we don't get many icy mornings this winter.

I have managed to get a chest infection, and my bird has also caught it too  Well, I don't know if that's possible but we went to the vet today as he struggles to breathe after exertion and the vet said he has mucus on his lungs. He was really well behaved in the vets and the receptionist came to admire him :D

Saw our new flat today. :D It looks so big! It's exciting. :) The guy who I spoke to said that he thinks it was a communal block of flats and someone else said it had an entry phone.
Went to look today and it actually has it's own door to outside and then stairs upto the flat and no entry phone in sight!

We've fallen in love with it. :D

We get the keys next Friday. :) My only worry is that the property is a new build and although it's been allocated a house number, it's still a "lot" at the moment so I'm worried that when we change our address on things that letters won't get to us.:o

Not sure if you can use another address for correspondence until things calm down?
