Bird is getting better. I am judging this on the basis that I have just had to remove him from my bookshelves.

  • Spent 2 hours at the walk in clinic yesterday as I could hardly move my arms without pain in my shoulders, neck and chest.

Eventually got seen (emergency - lady with a hickman line thingummywotsit problem took up their time) and got told off by the doctor for not taking the painkillers, prescribed lots of medicine (codeine, paracetamol and voltarol) and told to come back today to sort out steroids and flu jabs and whatnots.

Had the pharmacist rather entertainingly getting a fit of the giggles when he couldn't think of the right word to mean suppository painkillers without embarrassing me and coming out with 'torpedos' - which just made sag and whimper about how that was not really selling the alternative administration method to me when he makes it sound like my backside might explode after 30 seconds :) - and chatting away about the music I play (I think they hadn't had much in the way of trade yesterday).

Then back there today to drop in the prescription for the steroid depo (which they have to order) whilst limping from the flu jab.

I am now rather medicated and monged out on the sofa with two of the cats snoring in the sunshine. I should be cleaning so we can get the tree up. Especially as I have gigs this week, but I am just too wasted to move. And the kitten has finally stopped pouncing on me and is sleeping too.

Saw my CPN today and had a good rant about pretty much everything and anything. :D However, that left me very exhausted and so he let me have 5 minutes to myself. Then came back in with my new CPN. I was a bit apprehensive about changing CPN as I like the one I have just fine but he's transferring over to the short-term assessment team and I need more long-term ongoing care.

Anyway, my new CPN is actually quite funny (and sat across the room as he had a cold and didn't want to infect me ;)) and he said that he doesn't have a "You must do this and you must do that approach" (which I value as I hate it when people dictate to me that to do!).

So, at the moment I have two CPNs attributed to my care (don't I feel spoilt! lol).

On the bad side, I can hardly stand up today. My legs are so painful and I can feel every sensation on and in them! My pain meds still haven't been sorted out by my psych and the M.E clinic and paracetamol and Ibuprofen don't even touch the pain I'm in everyday. :( Really wish the meds would get sorted out so I can at least not be in pain.:(

Oh, and my CPN told my CBT therapist that I'm struggling to do that and the M.E clinic and that they are both putting impossible demands on me.:o I'd rather have told her myself that I'm struggling but my CPN said that I most likely wouldn't have told her because I like her, when in actual fact, if I like someone I'm more likely to tell them how I feel!

    Sorry for the long post.:o

    S'Alright - I was too wasted to notice :D

Just woken up, actually. Still feeling spacey, but not in pain at the moment :)

    Hasn't this thread been quiet?!

I only just got back online; my laptop broke down two weeks before Christmas and I got it repaired, then the day before I got back from my dad's, my cat-sitter came over to find my place had been broken into and said laptop stolen. :( I know who did it and I can't prove it, and neither can the police. The worst part of that is, his bedroom window overlooks my front door, so now I have a panic attack every time I try to go out.

I'm more upset about losing my data than my actual laptop, since I have the compensation coming in April and can get a new comp, but I had work on there I can't replace and will have to start again from scratch, as I only have backups to September because of the breakdown.

Oh, and the little b-stard stole my last bottle of morphine, and I can't get more until Wednesday - and broke the only double-glazed window in my house, which is boarded up until Tuesday, so the flat is icy even with the heating on, which does not help the pain level. Ow, ow, OW.

    How are you all?

    Very quiet.....

So sorry to hear what has been going on Trialia, not a nice experience at all.

I was admitted to hospital as an emergency just before Christmas and at one point, it was looking like I was going to be there all over the holiday. Thankfully, they had another think about the procedure they wanted to do and decided to put it off until all the inflammation and infection had cleared up/settled down, so I could come home.

It made for a slower and more eek Christmas but it was a hell of a lot better than spending it in hospital!

Mind you, now have the procedure to 'look forward to' plus a CT scan and follow up appointments.....think I have just stepped back onto the merry go round of hospital appointments, this time, for myself.

Eldest coped brilliantly, once he got the phone call to say I had been admitted, he jumped into action and organised the boys overnight care, their bags and travel (although he did forget youngest's asthma bag) and then packed (perfectly I must add!), my hospital bag...he even remembered to put a clean bra in the bag!

In some ways, our life with my now ex husband and his multiple hospital admissions plus youngest's multiple hospital admissions has had an upside....all are prepared for it and don't panic, they just get on with packing bags with no stress or panic.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
