Oh my, finally someone else around here who would have any idea what trich is like! I pull my eyebrows and eyelashes out without even thinking about it most of the time - that's why I never wear mascara as it would only wind up on my fingertips anyway...

Welcome to the thread! And enjoy your blackberry picking. Mm, now I want blackberries...

My trich isn't too bad usually, I started pulling my eyelashes out when I was about 10 for no reason and ended up with none at all very quickly, it lasted about 6 months and then I don't remember how I stopped doing it but they grew back.. Then it didn't reappear until i was about 14 and started plucking my eyebrows (boy, did they need it) and now I am quite obsessive about that. I pick the hair on my arms a lot. The eyelash thing came back with vengance just as I was finishing uni a few months ago and I still have to try quite hard not to pluck them out; but the worst/best thing is that I've just got a dog and for some reason you can gently pull at the hair on some places on his body and the fur comes out really easily, so I've started doing that a lot :o

We have apples in the garden which my mum has already picked so I think we're going to have apple and blackberry crumble later :D We also found a couple of plum trees so we got a bag of those too, not sure whether they'll be puree, jelly, jam or pie yet. :A

It's nice to meet someone close to my age with similar problems :) It'd be nice to chat in real time at some point, conversations on forums take forever!

What is it with TalkTalk reps today? There were 3 in town, I mean seriously, it's not even like it's a large town centre, we only have 2 Big Issue sellers.

Talk about canine guests, mine is trying to snuggle under my arms and generally make it blooming difficult for me to type right now, although he is a permanent guest as my birthday present and I love him dearly already (he's only been here two weeks) so I can't really complain too much :rotfl:... On that note, anyone know why he snuggles his head into me? He'll do it where ever he can, it's not a problem it's actually quite cute, I was just wondering.

I had a bit of a pointless trip in to town as the CAB were about as useful as a chocolate teapot, but hopefully the appointment they have set up for me next tuesday will actually be productive in helping me fill out my DLA form.

Talking of DLA/IB..I'm starting to tackle my DLA renewal. It's so hideously depressing, little's changed since 2 years ago, if anything I'm worse.. Can't decide whether to do it all properly and put in every tiny bit of care and still end up with lower rate or to do the pushing for MRC.. Due to frequency of help through the day I think I'd *technically* qualify.. Just not sure if I can take it! Fully expect to be told I can do X, Y and Z before having to appeal which I hope to win at review stage!
Invasion, I know what you mean about those darned forms. My HRM is indefinite, but I got no care component when I first applied, and the forms for the DWP to look at the care decision are just there ---> on the coffee table. I've been putting off filling them in for a few days because it's so physically and emotionally draining.
I would seriously recommend going to CAB or DIAL or someone and getting them to fill in the bulk of the form. Then at least if you don't have what it takes to add anything to it, you know it's good enough to go as is. It took a big weight off me. They also give you an idea of what kind of levels of award you can expect - like my CAB woman said MRC HRM and to go back to them for appeal if I don't get that...which is looking more and more likely to need
I've jumped in so I'd better introduce myself - I'm rosy, 46 years old (how on earth did that happen?), single parent to four big kids 23, 20, 17 and 15. Work part time for a couple of charities, have Crohn's disease, osteoarthritis, Ehlers-Danlos hypermobility, fibromyalgia, depression. Three years ago I was a brown belt in karate and running 10k three times a week. Now I can't get upstairs without help, it's been a big struggle to accept the changes.
Welcome rosy :) I'm not much of a drinker either, but thanks for the offer.
I have IBS rather than Crohns, had depression in the past, have HMS and fibro, along with a side of ME/CFS and asthma.
Good luck accepting the new less active you :)

Thank god Timmy doesn't do that (and no, I didn't name him) He just wants attention. I can do pretty much anything I like to him as long as it's attention.. Which is good as twice this week he's managed to get treats lodged in his mouth and I don't know what I would have done if he didn't trust me enough to stay still and take full control of his face.

Here, have a tiny kitten to cheer you all up. :) Loki, as we've now nicknamed him, is going through a bitey phase - I think he's teething a bit, but ow! Still darned cute though.

Hee! Isn't he just? He wears me out, mind you. Fortunately, I have a sort of joint custody arrangement for him with a friend of mine, so I look after him while she's out of Manchester and when she's here, she has him (she commutes, sort of). I think if I had him all the time I wouldn't be functional, he's got so much energy.

    But the cute! *melts*
