Ugh, flu. :( At least it's my first bout of the year... I spent last night tossing and turning, waking up every couple of hours, feverish as could be and sore throat. Not ever any fun. :(

Snap. Well.. a cold so not that bad.

I'm so glad my GP is great and gave me the flu injection otherwise I'm convinced I would have had it twice by now.

Still, the cold has left me bed bound. My mum had to come home from work with supplies and make me some toast. At least I can take cold/flu meds as I've reduced my general paracetamol level to twice a day and they are having some effect.

I was well enough to keep the appointment with my Occupational Therapist and she was really good, unfortunately she can't give me some things that I need around the house but she suggested a few really useful tips about how to get round some problems and told me that Assisted Technology department of social services might be able to help. The best news is that I thought she was going to have to take my toilet frame away as it wasn't big enough for me but she'd specifically chosen a frame that widens and adjusted it for me so that pleased me a lot :rotfl:.. Although the man who delivered it should have done it for me apparently.

The bad news is that the housing booklet was out today and there's nothing available for me to bid on. That's 3 in a row that there hasn't been anything, so I'm getting less and less hopeful that I'll move by the end of the year.

    How is everyone else doing?

Going to Florida on 29th May. I'm so apprehensive. :(

Could this be coeliacs disease? It sounds very similar. Maybe try cutting out gluten for a while (you'd be surprised what it's in!) and see if that helps?

    Hi Jodie, welcome :)

I've got both assessments out of the way, the council and social services. Not sure if I passed the social services criteria, I guess I'll find out at some point? She was nice, though, and put my mind at ease about my mental health appointment.

Next up is a hospital appointment tomorrow.

Think I'm fighting a kidney infection, got so much pain, the sudden urge to wee desperately and that kind of temperature that means you sweat and shiver. Eurgh.

I'm not sure. It has been happening for a while. I mean, I've always had some degree of bloating and stomach aches but I'm just noticing it more lately I think. I was told not to cut out gluten without a doctor's say so so I'm not sure if I should.
I've been to the doctors so many times lately that I don't really want to annoy her with anything else.=/

So many people I've spoken to have UTIs at the moment. I'm fighting off a kidney infection too but thankfully this second lot of antibiotics are working.

Glad the assessments went well. :)

    [opens DLA decision letter]

Low rate mobility and medium rate care. So the constant pain and inability to keep clean without assistance is a figment of my imagination, then? Meh.

Suppose it's better than nowt, but will speak to the GP to see if they will write a letter confirming this so I can ask for a reconsideration.

    Could be worse.

    What was your previous award?

You can get a blood test for coeliac but it can give a false positive, but if GP agrees and it is positive then you get to have a very small biopsy taken using a camera down your throat. It's nowhere near as bad as it sounds,, I have coeliac but was not symptomatic so was able to undertake trials which needed the camera tests done quite regularly.

However, it is more common not to have coeliac, even with all the blaoting, than it is to have it

Higher rate of both, following a medical examination.
