Yep - iron supplements twice daily. It's not a huge addition.

Sadly, that's the case pretty much everywhere. I don't know anywhere that has supported housing for someone under 50 who's never been committed for mental health reasons. And rarely if you have.

    No vitamin B12 as well?

Nope. Though I am vit.D deficient, so vitamin D and ferrous sulphate, and that's it...

I read it recently in a magazine and decided to try it. I swapped to a new mattress a few months ago (actually, probably nearer a year ago now) and that helped a bit.

I have always used a pillow between my legs for restless leg syndrome (I know it sounds silly but it is the real term for it). It's the only thing I've ever known to help it and it works briliantly.

I also slept with one throughout both pregnancies as when my hips widened it changes the angles of your legs so they're not parallel when you lie on your side and it made my knees ache and generally my legs and hips felt really uncomfortable.

After the second pregnancy though I couldn't get used to sleeping without it anymore, my youngest is nearly 5 now and I still sleep with a thin pillow between my legs.

I don't feel well today :( Everything I eat makes me sick, as does most things I drink. I daren't take my diclofenac as I need to eat something with it so my back is nicely locked up and painful even with the pillow idea. It's my sister's birthday so I tried to go out, but I threw up in the toilets (which isn't easy when they're upstairs!) so had to come back. I think I stole someone else's taxi as they tried to insist I was called Darren and going to Mapperly.

Juno, peppermint tea might help settle your stomach if you've got any? Helps me.

Feeling sore and low this morning.

Middle son had a major aspergic rage last night and protecting the other two boys, I put myself in the firing line (as I have always done) and actually managed to restrain him. It was at a cost though, my ankle is bruised and swollen from kicks, my chest is sore from punches, my shoulders are hurting where he tried to force my arms back, a bone has moved in my wrist where he tried to break it and my back is agony from being pushed over several times.....until I finally managed to get him restrained to prevent damage to himself (by himself), the other boys, myself and the house.

Not a good start to the week.....
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
  • Oh Sue that's horrible :( I don't know how you cope, I really don't. I think you're doing fantastically though, so well done :)

This evening I went to an open evening at our local gallery and they are looking for volunteers so I signed up for one day (4 hours or so) a week and I feel I will be roped in for more as the gallery managers eyes lit up when I said I was a qualified graphic designer. She said there were a lot more outreach type projects that I could be involved in, especially with teenagers, so that is looking positive :) It is all part of my new plan for getting out of the house more often, and having some focuses in life. Whether the plan starts to work is another thing, but I can only try.

formaldehyde -well done for being so positive and looking for something to get yourself out and involved in something.
I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it.
I'm trying to get motivated in some way........I know I can't get out and about and keep trying to think of things to do indoors that take my mind off the fact I can't walk like I could but its not easy. I end up doing the same old things. Still, having said that I've sat and made all my christmas and birthday cards for this year............lol
Now need to send OH out for needles and wool and have a go at knitting something simple......wrist warmers should be easy I think (hope !)

    sue - you deserve a medal:T
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

You need to inform the DWP that you are volunteering and I wouldnt be surprised if they haul you straight in for a medical but its not worth the hassel of being caught out if you dont inform them.

Some people say that you have to inform Blackpool too, I dont think that you need to unless you are on your feet for the four hours or other things that go against what you wrote in your DLA application.

Its good to have a hobby and things to look forward too.

    Go FP! :)

I'm doing hydrotherapy for half an hour once a week, and it means I have no spoons for the two days following that session however gentle they are, but I can feel it helping. Been doing it for a few weeks now, and can only have a six-week course at a time, but I get to go back for a review the seventh week then be put on another one, as I'm a long-term patient, so hopefully, it's going to keep helping slow the deterioration of HEDS.
