soolin - big hugs (((((((:o))))))))))) for you.

Well, had my appt with ''boffin'' today in the hope that he'd look at my bone scan and say it wasn;t as bad as he first thought...........oh such wishful thinking..........! Seems it is as bad -my bones are like spongecakes is how he put it. So, my wheelchair, sticks and walking frames are 'forever friends' and now its a case of getting my head around it all...........plus helping OH to come to terms with what he hoped was a temporary thing.
Think we both knew it wasn't if we're honest.
From now on I have to deal with my GP.........part of the ''big society'' the boffin said. Another bone scan in 6 months, meantime see a dietician (through GP) - we've always ate a healthy balanced diet but I expect that are foods I should eat more of.
So.........thats my little update. Hard to take in as I'm walking with my sticks a lot better than I was and really thought things were improving. Mind you he didn't say I'd never walk again and to keep up with the physio -oh, who knows.
Mustn't get too down about it...........there are far worse things I know.

    Sorry for ''misery'' post.........:o
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Bad, bad day :(

Edit: However, I have just recieved an email from 'assisted technology' and they are going to send me out an alarmed medication box in the post :D .. I'm terrible for not taking my meds on time, hopefully this will help.
  • Does anyone know how the social housing system works? Is it the same across the country? The woman on the phone tried to explain it to me, she said something about a home link network and bidding on properties, but who gets priority and why? And is it likely I'll even be accepted? I know I should put it on a board somewhere but I'm nervous of nasty people or trolls, I just thought I'd ask here first.

It's not the same everywhere. It varies from county to county, you'd have to look at the rules for where you live.

social housing system works here ....well here we are graded in type of need , they higher up the more quick;y you get something , they advertise in papers-on-line and in council office any property available , if you like what you read and your catogory is on it...you take its number and put in a bid..your allowed 3 go or bottom of list you go ...if you win they phone you and you go see it ...you can turn it down or they can with draw it from bidding on the visit if some thing wrong with it ( when i saw first one it had not been cleared and housing man was in shock so did'nt count as 1 refuse ) you just keep putting bids in ..took me 7 years to get flat ! while the neighbor got it in month as homeless asslum seeker . who now lets it out and goes home on holiday ! no more on that matter!
the truth is out there ... on these pages !!
