Hi Taxi - you're joining WW? The principle sounds great - and if fruit is free of points, you can whizz your immune system up a treat - berries! Any berries - they're all local superfoods as far as I can make out, but because they're not exotic, they don't get the attention.

I'll keep on looking out for you .

2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • hi taxi, glad you're feeling stronger - "go with the flow" was written for this situation.Combination of weather and erm hibernation meant I'd let my daily walk slide away to nothing. I got really annoyed with myself for a while but took to flinging away the contents of my house last month as a start to clearing my head and it really has helped :rotfl: Back to diet/exercise tomorrow. Diet is just healthy eating rather than faddy and exercise this week is a walk every day. Do what you can - little and often really does work (and I'm the worst at ignoring that:p) and on the days that you feel too tired don't get annoyed at yourself - it'll pass. I got a pedometer which really helped me at the beginning.

    Hope you're sleeping better! x

Morning all...little and often is definitely the way to go...and you're right I've not got to beat myself up over it either. It is hard getting out the door sometimes as well as I've lost a lot of my confidence....but that means things can only improve from now on.Hope everyone is ok.

Little and often, as and when - these things are "sayings" because they're really true. I'm sorry you've lost confidence, Taxi, don't push it too hard, it will return - just a little bit when you can, thats all you need.

Have been for a walk to the corner shop and back again...the walk back was quite agony but I made it.Had a little rest and then washed the pots so am now sat resting again.

Am glad I'm going to fat club as have about 11 stone to lose..yes you read that right.

My back and hips are always in agony...I do have osteo arthritis in my spine and hips but think the weight is causing more problems.I can only stand still for a few minutes or walk not very far but am trying.

I guess as the weight comes off I'll be able to walk and exercise more.I can't take anti inflammatories due to anaphylaxia so have to endure the pain.Am going to see the DR about pain management or to see what he suggests...so looks like a long slow recovery but I'll get there.

sorry to hear about your pain problems.
Just wanted to say after years of chronic back pain, I was referred to the pain management clinic at hospital where I was given acupuncture and could drop in when I needed to. It transformed my life. I hardly suffer with back pain now (although not sitting at a desk may have helped too) and I was also given a portable TENS machine too which is great.
    Worth a try.

    Good luck with WW x

Hi Troy - I see what you mean & I really do hope that you get your dream x I'm hoping to get the all clear after 5 years. But even then I'm not sure that they give anyone the all clear it's more of a NED (no evidence of disease). I don't have to see Dr Spooner (he's lovely & soooo kind, I could sob when I see him :o), my Encologist for another 12 months, so it's looking good. Although I have an appointment with the plastic surgeon next month, not sure if he's going to remove a sort of spot like thing from the boob. Take care now x

that's great Duke, sounds like they are very happy with you :)
My Cons scares the SH** out of me...but I have reason to believe she is very good at what she does, so I take a deep breath as I walk into the Clinic!
Hope all goes well with the plastic surgeon, they are brilliant at what they do! If they do go ahead, it will be a walk in the park in comparison to what you have been through!! XX

  • Well I've got a canny bit to shift as well so it's my new Long Term Project :). I'm sorry you're in such pain - what have they suggested for you?

Well done on the walk - this time last year, I was coming to the end of my rads. I'd had to stay in the hospital's student block because of the snow and remember a 50 yard walk to the shop and back for milk. Fine all the way there but suddenly overwhelmed by tiredness on the way back - I didn't move from the settee for the rest of the day! I just took to laughing at my body and pretending I was Cleopatra for those days "Boy! Peel me a grape!" :D. It does get better though. Don't try to rush things and accept it'll take a while...

Thanks Lenza....have just managed another couple of achievements but think that will be it for today I think as am really tired.

Firstly, I took my new car out ..was a bit scary as gear stick is in a different place and handbrake is different and obviously the biting point and the brakes feel different....I didn't cause any accidents so alls well with the world.

I didn't drive far just so I could go to the bank and then to Aldi to get a load of fruit and veg ready for my diet from tomorrow.

Will be joining WWs tomorrow and am looking forward to that.May not be able to go to my own class the week after as it's DHs birthday and he wants to go for a Thai meal but will not be beaten and will go to another class...think that's allowed.
