yep sure will! my lovely friend was a mountain leader and it was his lifetimes ambition to summit everest. We have arranged it for the last event in the year to be a real memorial to him. to stand at the top of kala pathar (mountain with a view down the valley to everest) and toast him for motivating me to do throughout the year what i will have (hopefully) done. He was my inspiration and motivation every day since the moment i met him and every single day since his sudden death. Reaching that goal will be my way of paying homage to that friendship.

What a lovely tribute to your wonderful friend. It is obvious from your posts how much you valued what being around him added to your life and how much you cared for him.0 -
Hjya Taxi, thanks!! yes it sure did he was just a larger than life character and his laugh could've caused an avalanche it was that loud!
we are about 2 weeks away from both the anniversary of his death and what would've been his 40th birthday so he is on my mind even more than usual if that is possible!! I'm not grieving for him anymore but my god i miss him. every single day. in many situations i think what would he have done? and got my answers that way. Sounds nuts i know.
So I have had a lovely couple of days off work. We went to Delamere forest yesterday with the bikes and had a good 10 mile ride all around the off road tracks and up some blummin steep hills..(puff pant!!) but then freewheeled all the way back down again! I was a bit worried about how the beast would cope being a hybrid with a definite and distinctive not towards "road bike" status but she did me proud
For those of you whom havent yet been exposed to tales of "the beast" sorry, but it has now hit my mse diary therefore I get to bore you all too!! Mwahahahaha!!!! "the beast" is my pride and joy. a specialized cirrus sport pro hybrid bike that really is absolutely nothing if not sexy!! she has little bags for all my kit, a lovely little computer that tells me how fast i am going (27mph at on particularly hair-raising downhill point yesterday!!) how far i have been that day and how far total, lovely drop handle bar ends and just generally looks amazingly lovely! She, along with my car will never ever hit ebay no matter how bad things get. she is my bike and i love her
she will hopefully be my friend for the london to paris and coast to coast legs of my challenge next year.
D had done alot of cycling in his younger years (cough
) but not for ages, we took his bike too and he loved every second. I have a feeling we will be doing an awful lot more of that!

So financially, hmmm. Spending diary looks like this.
2 newspapers and a roll of brown paper for ebay stuff £1.80
2 cans of coke and slice of fruit cake at end of the ride £3.00
fuel £38.95
so we are £4.80 down out of my £20 spends for this week. nothing to spend now until friday avo when I am off out after work and probably going to rutland water with a picnic saturday. I have Dads birthday party this sunday so a trip to kent is in order, his card and pressie are all budgetted for and i doubt i'll reach what i have to spend. Must must must post his card today!
food wise, quite a good day yesterday,
breakfast= cheese and mushroom omlette and a cup of tea
lunch = erm, yeah, breakfast was a late one....
After cycle ride snack= can of coke and a third of a slice of fruit cake... ("want anything to eat?" says i to the human dustbin, "nah just a can of coke" the human dustbin replies... Puts slice of fruitcake on table, pops to put chewing gum in bin. come back and 2/3 has gone!!!! )
Dinner = cheese and onion pasty and a handful of cherry tomatos as I was driving home!!!
not a bad day but still in excess of my calorie allowance and not entirely "balanced".
SO, today brings work. yawn boring. An after work meeting at which we will be told exactly what the effect of our pay cut will be and when it will be happening, not looking forward to that!! and then a run when i get home. catch yas latas patatas!!! have good days! xx
PS thought for the day... "What would you do today if you knew you couldnt fail?" I'll post my answer later...

Morning Pania, I'm so pleased you decided to do a diary after all.
You sound "in a good place" so fingers crossed for the meeting that it won't affect your mse schedule too much. I'm sure once you get used to perm 7-3 you will love the afternoon free time
