Why do adults have to eat around supermarkets?

Why dont people see it as theft
Because standards in society has slipped??
Because they see it as sampling the merchandise?
Who knows??
Prob no one ever repromands them or confronts them about it. So it must be ok to do. Like most unjust/unfair or plain wrong things in society.
No point in bothering or even thinking about it unless you do something about it lol0 -
Maybe the standards in society are slipping...
I mean eating in supermarkets, pajama parties. Whats next. booze parties.
Were will the line be drawn?
Food for thought lol
I fail to see the problem.
I suppose you could argue that they were not his to eat as he hadnt actually paid for them, but it woukd seem as if he had every intention of paying, and so thy would soon be his to do with as he pleased.
Its not clear from you post but im guessing it was a packet o buiscuits that are paid for per pack rather than say 100g for £1.00. So you couldnt even say he wasnt paying for the full amount of goods.
Why can you understand a child eating but not an adult??
As said by someone else they may have had a medical condition. My ex is diabetic and has on occasion needed to ea somethin in a supermarket and has never had a problem from supermarkets when she does this.
However there is one thing that does annoy me and that is when someone 'trys' a grape/cherry etc, to make sure they are alright. That to me is shoplifting and should be treated as such, there is never. An attempt to pay, theyare not on offer to try.MoneySpendingExpert0 -
I frequently grab a bottle of water & open it & hand the cashier an empty bottle at the check out:D0

.
And that is the only reason it should be done. Thats my line drawn.
And even then if i could manage to pay and go out the shop i would.
Thats my personal standard, that standard does more good than harm. The current situation does harm.
But each to there own. biscuits, grapes, booze or ciggys evryone has a line.
Someone has to draw a line.
Some people may even ask to eat it in the shop under medical grounds.0 -

I can understand parents resorting to feeding their young children just to keep the calm and the child is too young to understand why they cannot eat there and then.
Adults on the other hand are old enough to either wait or eat before they go ( obviously excluding urgent medical reasons) it is bad hygiene to eat biscuits then handle other products, put them back and then another poor unsuspecting customer picks them up!! ( i.e hand to mouth contamination )

unless youwash your hands after touching anything and before eating anything there will always be hand to mouth contamination. How many times have you bought a packet of crisps opened them and then eaten thhem?? Now think about how many times you have boight a packet of crisps, opened them washed your habds and then eaten them. And then everytime you touch something washed ypur hands before eating another crisp???MoneySpendingExpert0 -
I think it's scummy behaviour, have some self control. I even went as far as to say that to my girlfriend when she opened a can of pop in the middle of asda and started drinking, she paid for it.
The shop doesn't have to serve you, they can refuse, so I'd hate to think how it would go down if they refused to serve you because they don't like the look of you, but you've just stuffed your piggish face with their food and drink.0
