Next week (starting today) is the great summer to winter clothes changeover, including moth-proofing. This year I'm not going to be OS, as cedar didn't protect my Liberty wool shawl.
When we were in France I bought a taint free spray, which says it's safe to use in areas where food is produced, but also zaps moths and larvae, so here I come!
It's also the time of year when I realise just how much space winter woollies occupy.0 -
penny that's what i thought :eek:
i sort of knew it is 'size related' - little ones boy and big ones john
but i didn't realise how educational this can be too :TI have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work0 -
:hello: Hello all (esecially new flyers) I'm back! Rather jet lagged so not exactly raring to go.
It was so nice to come back to a clean and tidy house for the first time ever. My mum had kindly come over and put the clean linen on all the beds I had stripped and the dirty linen has disappeared which is fab!!
I used Flylady tips to help me pack, nothing earth shattering but helped me to focus and I have done as she has said and unpacked it all straight away (just having a little break from the last pile).
Kids are really excited about Halloween after being surrounding by decorations and visiting a pumpkin patch so decorations came down from loft as bags went up.
Back to normal tomorrow - see you all then

Thanks for the suggestions re the oven. Cleaning it has improved things - it now heats up a bit better - but I dont think the front fan is working. Treat it as a convection oven and you are ok.
Really dont want to buy a new one - so much needs spending on the new house, including kitchen and oven.
Just a general clean today and a (hopefully) final tidy of the garden.
I now need to start focusing on packing the house up. In theory six weeks to go, I did pack a lot of the rarely used things as I tidied pre sale but there is still a huge amount to do including the dreaded garage.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Just signing in for duty!
Half term challenge proved an inspiration although I was rather helped by the fact I was childless for the week! DD's back, smoothered in love, and already got lego out all over living room floor.:rolleyes:
Think they may have noticed tidy house cos they said "we won't have to put it away will we because you've already vacumned!" I usually try to vacumn on a Monday so Sunday evening is put lego away time.
Played monopoly and won for once - yeah!!!!!:j :j
Tomorrow may be a shakey start cos it's inset day and I have weeks of cuddles to catch up on but first job:-
unpack all the bags dumped in downstairs hall!!!:eek:0 -
DeniseNZ.............. what time is it?
Cashsaver - it's usually a 12 hour difference but not sure what it is now - we've not long started Daylight Saving and you've just finished!! It's nearly 12 noon on Monday right at the moment
Have got lots done over the past few days that I haven't been here. Feeling quite pleased with myself although the master bedroom zone missed out completely!!
Today is a holiday for us so getting some extra done.
Done so far:
FOUR loads of laundry round to MILs and hung out;
Weekly menu;
Groceries bought;
Groceries unpacked and put away - ALL OF THEM!!!
Still to do:
Get laundry in, folded and put away;
Create our first garden;
Do a dump run to get rid of some bits of concrete etc, picked up from around the section;
Have some family time - a trip to the beach and a nice walk, and hopefully fish and chips on the beach to end the day.
Will now go and get some lunch and if time will catch up on reading some posts later.
Oh - also have to check out this weeks fly zone unless someone has posted it alreadyIf there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -

Morning Flybabes - anyone heard from Flyboy in the last few days?
Hey Lynz - great to see you up early and ready to go. Good luck with the job hunting. How did the viewings on the flat go?
Denise - guess it's about 8pm in the evening there so you're winding down for bed. Goodnight!
Welcome back Dusty - hope you had a wonderful holiday and thanks for looking in on us while you were away!
Welcome to newbies like kscour, PixxySu, cashsaver, earwig, Peem, Redballoon Wobblebottom and anyone else who's joined us following the half-term challenge. Hope you stick with us and in no time you'll be old time Flyers like hex, Penny, Lynz, TNG and the rest!
Inspired by Penny on the challenge thread I've got lots to do today and this week. It's my birthday friday and OH has invited half the neighhbourhood round for a firework party! He's then off to Japan for a week the next day. I'm also out a few times this week and of course there's Halloween. Lots of FLYing in the gardem this week with my parents - it now looks great and ready to sleep over the winter months but I neglected the house and it only takes a few days for the house to get into a mess.
Today:
Make beds
Swish ensuite, bathroom, toilet
Wash on (x4)
Iron wash (ironing pilr from hell to clear)
Empty / load / run DW
Dinner
Shine sink
Hotspot : Office paper work (bank statements and catalogues today
