Not sure if this is just one off, but funnily enough the meal deal is NOT working at all in a Manchester store of Tesco, they are aware, although they are still advertising it. Apparently theres a problem with the tills! Is the second week, and am off to find out if they have "fixed" it. Was wondering if they had tried to actually fix the glitch....hope not ;)

Delighted - the meal deal glitch (two mains) is still working!

    £9 for :
    4 main courses
    2 desert
    1 bottle of wine.

The wine is nearly £9, so 'thank you Tesco for the free food'!
...and many thanks to the original person who found this glitch and let us all know about it.

Hold up, shouldn't it be £18 for that lot? I've looked at other threads and they're all saying it's 2main,1xdesert and a wine for £9, or double the quantity for £18. Are you saying otherwise or did you make a mistake?

Don't fancy queuing up in tescos and having to put back half of it, OTOH that lot for £18 would be bargin of the century.

    Hi camaj,

To clarify, the deal is a 'meal deal for two for £9' which really should include:

1 main box(box contains two mains),
1 dessert box (box contains two portions),
    1 side to share.
    1 bottle of wine.

Good deal anyway, but even better as you can drop the side and grab another main box.

So when others are saying two mains, they are right, they mean two boxes which contain 2 each = 4 in total.

Sorry if i confused matters and I hope this makes more sense.

yes, that makes things crystal clear now! Didn't realise that it was a meal deal for two so that helps.

As a side note it amazes me sometimes how long people will fail to spot inaccurate or incomplete information. In the other thread people were posting that a side dish was uneccessary and people were still paying £11 for quite a while.

Can anyone clarify something for me? I ordered 6 meal deals via internet shopping, they didnt have the wine which should have gone with the meal deal, so didnt sub, thus the meal deal discount didnt kick in, and I received my shopping minus 6 bottlesof wine.

I complained to the store who said the DTD didnt apply as it was an offer which hadnt kicked in not a misprice, or an overcharge. Basically they refunded the items in the meal deal and then put the bottles in and re charged me at £9 per meal deal as usual.

Was this correct? my take on it was that I paid xxx for an order minus 6 bottles of wine so therefore I had been overcharged, the CS woman in store was adamant DTD did not apply. Is it worth making an email complaint? or were they correct?

AFAIK, DTD does not apply to online orders anyway, so you would not have received it regardless of the circumstances. I am sure someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong ......
