  • If I am reading this thread correctly I can by something at Tesco and get it free if they charge me wrong.

That can't be write can it, otherwise everyone would do it.
  • i just wondered if anyone can tell me if it makes any difference going straight to the CS desk or going out to your car for a few minutes first??

Twice I've been told "..seen as you've given us a chance to put it right by refunding the difference BEFORE I leave the store, that it was acceptable". So no R&R. Both times was on fresh meat, got my R&R in one store after gentle discussion with CS, who called manager, who right away said yes (lovely guy!):p second time not even a sniff of a chance of getting R&R even though manager agreed it was an overcharge but she said she was over-ruling the policy.:naughty:

What difference would it make whether you leave the store or not??

    None whatsoever
Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.

Together we can make a difference.
  • today I spotted the DVD meet the foukers reduced to 6.97, scanned it and it was correct! these misprices seem to be getting sorted very quickly
  • I can't believe how long this thread gets so quickly! Only opened this morning and three pages already....

Following a sour R+R a few weeks back I have been lying low because it is making me nervous to think of hitting the same store...need to get my confidence back, but thought I'd check in.

PS Turkey stir fry bits are scanning at the lower price if anyone spots that one

My opinion - you've been told rubbish.
Once they have TAKEN YOUR MONEY they have overcharged you. Full stop.
Some MSErs say they go out to car etc, and return to cs when they SUDDENLY realise they have been overcharged ;)
But cs will ask to see exact product - so make sure you take item back with you!
I usually go straight to cs, then they cannot argue that I have swapped say a cd I've just paid for, with one I had in my car with a lower price sticker on, and then try to claim an R&R
Comments I hear is "Have you just bought this..?" and I point out date and time of receipt.
Bottom line is SOME cs will try to wriggle out of refund any way they can. Just keep calm, don't raise your voice, and know YOU are right. As long as you have done nothing wrong, you SHOULD get your R&R
    ;););););)
With regard to debate about take the refund/difference and argue for the R&R later...
On all the occasions I have been offered the difference or seen it offered to other customers I always seem to hear cs say "...is that alright/ok ?"Not being in the legal profession I don't KNOW, but would assume once you have accepted a solution to your overcharge, you have accepted. Much like saying you have made a contract ( eg verbal contract)
Once you have accepted their offer,( "is that ok?") I would think that legally you are saying you are happy with the outcome.
Don't know where you stand when you accept a refund on an xbox etc but make it clear you are doing so under protest, are unhappy with the offer, and intend to take it further. Again would suggest having as much evidence and detail as poss - pictures( if allowed) names and rank of staff, witness to sel/poster etc etc....
    :p:p:p:p:p
I cannot understand how anyone could argue that all these xbox mistakes are purely human error. A poster/picture 2 WEEKS out of date !!
With all MSEs chasing round actively looking for them?
With members of the public complaining after their discount doesn't come off ?
How can a store say it could stay up that length of time and them NOT having realised it is wrong, not have had to refund at least the £10 or £20 discount, or contend with people asking for a full R&R.
  • I just wanted to say that today myself and my daughter were out on the hunt :rotfl: for R&R's in store that itsn't local (well about 12 miles away, but its what we class as "OVER THE BRIDGE" so not local) and I decided to get some of my wombled receipts added to my tesco cc. Whilst at the CS desk we noticed a guy waiting with the afore mentioned xbox and game of the week. It was actually quite funny as we nudged and winked at each other, whilst grinning madly at the bloke.. if he wasnt a fellow R&Rer I think he thought his luck was in at 11.00 on a Sunday morning.. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I love MSE it makes my day!!! :T :j :T

Glad I'm not the only one who's lost courage following a sour R&R experience.

It really does shake your confidence and believe me I'm not easily bothered! In my own case the Duty Manager over ruled "THE POLICY" because, in her own words "she could!" and now I think if I was to try for any R&R in that store I might encounter her again and I reckon I would be told no again.

I know that my not wanting to try R&Ring in that store again is exactly the purpose of her intimidation but rest assured I will get another R&R of that I am determined!
