Thurrock I hadn't ever done and R&R in there but this guy took the biscuit. The CS ladies were both agreeing that I was right the only reason they contacted him as they needed Authorization.
Think they are hoping to get away with it this way as most people probably would'nt make a complaint.
Mummy to 5 beautiful girls and yes it is very hard work lol x

If it was for a misprice item clear and simple then a r&r is what you are entiltled to no questions and I am surprised at HO.
What was the item in question?0 -
mummyno4 wrote:Ok need some advise was told by a manager after being overcharged that Head Office had advised them it was up to each manger and they descretion if they did R&R. The item was over £200 and he stated if it had been under the £200 he would have done it. I called head office from the CS desk but they agreed that he had the final say. He agreed I was right, although I ended up getting a REFUND and leaving after taking his name of course. It made it worse as he walked off with a smug grin and the out of date POS knowing I was right.
Any advise as to what I could have said or done would be appreciated. I also I was more annoyed as he was very arrogant and rude, than losing on the R&R.
The refund and replace promise can also be seen to be part of the "offer to treat" and subsequently considered to be part of the "bargain" at time of sale, a good Trading Standards officer could also use this as leverage on your behalf but it is unlikely you will find one willing or capable of doing so.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
The Xbox thinking this may have been the problem. Although I stated the same about the policy and he just said Head Office had told them it was down to them if they did or not. I said that clause wasn't on their policy, but he wasnt having none of it.Mummy to 5 beautiful girls and yes it is very hard work lol x

Re the posts in the old thread, the Truro one is in the cereal aisles. It usually works but wasn't working last week - may have been fixed now. Its not me who gets loads in the area but I do know that the Truro store has a guy who goes in and buys multiples of mis priced stuff. I don't know if he's on here - and I'm not critisising him - but one of the staff mentioned him when I got a free chicken some time ago. (I think she was surprised that i only bought one - but I was very nervous then !) They are very on the ball there because of this guy. In 4 months I've only managed one chicken, one beef joint and 2 packs of soap powder Also the Managers can be VERY difficult.
St Austells scanner is in the soap pwder aisle (but rarely works). They are now very much on the ball too - and one particular CS lady may have been an SS guard in a previous re-incarnation.
Poole is an Extra but I really don't understand how to tell if games stuff will scan higher. (I didn't know they had a scanner )ELITE 5:2

Store managers seem to be able to act outside the wider Tesco remit - I think that it's bang out of order.
But TS are unlikely to show much interest- suggest you bite the bullet, walk away and come back for some sweet revenge....

Sir Terry Leahy's e-mail address is:
terry.leahy@tesc.com
And you can call his Secretary Carol Buckley on 01992 6322 22.
Take her easy,
Duder
The above email address needs an "o" on the end of "tesc"....although Duder replied thanking me for pointing this out some weeks ago....it must have been during a "heavy night"........
terry.leahy@tesco.com
Hope this is taken in the "constructive" way it is intended....0 -
I had a bit of trouble yesterday with an R&R, tried a mobile with a leaflet and the manager would not have it, he offered me 10% back or nothing, in the end i got a full refund (i think he loved that) and I now realise that i should have held on to the product to carry on the battle. I am bit green around the gills with this R&R ing but I will learn and god help 'em when I do! lol0
