Hi Broken Hearted, I'm in the same boat as you.
I stopped for about a week but started again last Thursday. This seems to be the pattern for me - I do fine for about a week but then I slide.
I'm re-reading the Alan Carr book and gearing myself up for another attempt.
We're going out to a club this weekend which is something we very rarely do and it's with a big group of friends which includes several smokers.
I know this is a bit of a defeatist attitude but I don't think there's any point in my trying to stop before I get that out of the way.

Keep up the good work everyone else, it is inspiring to read about others who have managed to stop and stay stopped.

Boatie (and Broken Hearted, and everyone else who is finding it a struggle),

Can I recommend 'The Nicotine Trick' by Neil Casey (I have done this elsewhere, probably on this thread!!)

He explains things much in the same way as Allen Carr and they complement each other. However, what the Neil CAsey book does is to give you a visualisation technique to use when you are having a cigarette. Some people stop smoking the first time they do it, others it takes a few days, but you end up simply not wanting to smoke. It took me about a week, then I had to make a conscious effort to say 'this is day one', but from then on it was relatively painless (even DW was still smoking while i was stopping).

It's not a thick book like Allen Carr, you can read it in one sitting.

And it only costs a fiver (ish) ;)

It will be 4 weeks tomorrow for me. I can say that I have not thought about ciggy's in nearly 3 days.

I am mad for Maltessers now. I have eaten 3 packets since Saturday. I had an excuse for the one on Saturday went to the Flix. No excuse for Sunday or yesterday. They are so addictive. Still have one packet left in the house but I am not going to eat them.

Must stop eating. well too much anyway.

Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?
