I have just applied for the BA Amex (standard one). I was hoping those of you who have been successful can share with me a little more information.
I am not really bothered by what rate they give me, and my credit history is pretty much spotless, other than a few late payments from many years ago still showing up on a couple of closed cards. I did the CreditExpert rating thing for a jape and got a 999 Excellent rating! Obviously I know this is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things and is calculated differently from lenders' assessments, but I am still quite impressed.
My question is this - those of you that have been successful, do you have a high debt-salary ratio? Mine is pretty high at the moment and I think this would be the only thing that might get me knocked back.
I applied for a BA Amex about 2.5 years ago and got declined, but I had only just started my new job at that time, and my salary was still relatively low. I haven't been declined for any cards or credit since that time, so I am hoping they will look more kindly on me this time.
Also, I have been operating an AMEX Corporate charge card for the 2.5 years with no problems.
Any opinions?0
