Weggy wrote:I may be missing the point here, but what's so good about having one of these AMEX cards? There's no 0% offer that I can see, the standard APR isnt anything spectacular, and (as far as I know) Amex still isnt accepted everywhere - certainly not as much as Visa and Mastercard........
Could someone shed any light on this?!
You can have concierge service, unlimited limit and get booked into hotels with only one phone call.
The real Amex is nice, but costs a lot, unless you are going to use the perks..0 -

And if you are a frequent flyer with BA then their BA Amex card is real treasure0 -
Boris, you do know that they have stopped doing the 4.9% LOB on their plat card?, AMEX have said that they are concentrating on people who are willing to spend on their card instead!Debt Free!!!0

Yes!
and as I said I wanted a card with higher credit limit, my current Cap1 card limit is £650, I was refused by Egg, Barclaycard and Lloyds.......and AMEX approved with a limit of £2.6k....
Hence as the topic suggests....AMEX is easy approval and high credit limit.
AMEX will be my primary card from now on!.............until offcourse I get a better deal:A0 -

other wrote:The real AMEX? But those don't have any annual fees (only the top 2 BA cards do) so why do they cost?
The poster you refer to is talking about the Amex Platinum Chargecard (not credit card) which has to be paid off in full every month. This has a fee of £300 a year, and offers the things like concierge service, free entrance to airport lounges and free companion tickets when flying first or business class on airlines. I think it could be worth the money if you travel a lot on business etc.0
