Thanks SM
No, they don't credit check you online, otherwise you'd get an instant decision. If you don't have an Amex Card already, it takes around 4 weeks.0 -
It did had an Amex card which I closed around 2 years ago. Would that count?0

Lucky you! They must have sped up since I applied for my platinum credit card earlier this year. I already had 2 Amex cards and it took about 2 weeks for me to get the card from application.0 -
I've never had an Amex card before and recently had a clear out of all my cards. Closed Barclaycard (had it for 12 years) and Halifax (had it for 1 year) and got a First Direct one. I also have a Morgan Stanley one which I use for monthly expenditure. They gave me a limit of £1,500 and not willing to increase until 6 months have gone by
Applied for the Amex Platinum on Sunday 3/9 and Thursday 7/9 I was advised it was approved with a £13,500 limit
Very happy as I've got a large purchase to make and will use it to get the cashbackLeason learnt :beer:0 -
