Enjoying this weekend
So far today
Went for a lovely run (hmm bit out of practice) with my giddy dog for the first time. Went well and he was well behaved so I think this will be a a good exercise for him and save some time for me and he gets to go for a longer walk too
Made the scones I've put off for the last week using up the buttermilk in the fridge before the sell by date, very nice and plenty to freeze to last for the rest of the month. Didn't need to buy anything for them which was also nice meaning can be another NSD today making it 7 so far for Feb with another 8 to go. Managed 13 in Jan and determined to get there this month
Also have just under £40 in GC budget for the rest of the month. This should be plenty as have enough in the freezer to last next week and the one after (shin beef stew x 2 or 3 meals) beef brisket (at least 3 meals). After reading one of my favourite books (meat) I'll have a go at stretching out the stew into soup with some pearl barley and some other veg
This week I'd better build in some veggie meals as they've been very meat based for the last 2 weeks with lots of leftovers. Think I'll have a look for some lentil recipes as I have a load in.
Better have a think about what seeds to plant soon, I started off some seed trays with herbs and salad stuff and most have germinated now. In fact I think I might start the other trays off as they're quick and easy and don't need to get the compost out on this gloomy dayfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

8 NSDs so far this month and a good attempt at 3 in a row achieved. Might even get a tremendous 4 or 5 in a row this week as feel pretty determined now to achieve this target. Plus only have around £40 left in shopping budget for this month
And at last went out for another run making it 2 in a row and I can't remember the last time I did that! Really got out of the habit over Jan and so far in Feb and I really want to get back to where I was.
Running this week
Mon - 3miles - tick
Wed - 3miles
Fri - 3miles
Sat/Sun - 6 miles depend on weather at the weekendfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Not a NSD unfortunately as had to put £1 into a collection at work and then succumbed to a few groceries as a result so I think I'll put my plant order in tonight as a spend day
More positively took the plunge to apply for a 10k race - my first big event! Looking forward to this immensly to enjoy how far I've come since last year when I did no exercise at all. Already at 10k distance in 4 intervals so over the next 6 weeks I'll be aiming to train the full distance with no intervals and run non stop then at the race find out my time!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Made 4 jars of pink grapefruit marmalade which is v.nice and came in at 59p a jar with only 3 ingredients - will make this again
Also made some lovely lemon squash 1L for £2.50 into 3 bottles - a tad on the sweet side but nice and fresh tasting compared to shop bought cordial and again only 3 ingredients and one of those is water!
Looking forward to some more cordial making in the spring and summer to try out some other recipes
will comment on debt later, but could you please put down the method for the pink grapefruit marmalade pls as it sounds lush. In fact do you have a jam book or something that you could reccommend as several of your recipes sounds really nice. !

Its sooo tempting isn't it when you see something you use 'on offer' but then i know now that the 'offer' will be on again in another few weeks, so i can save then just as easily as now. One thing they do over here with shampoo eg is sell the damaged ones, ie with knackered tops (can't remember if they do this in the uk), so i buy then for a couple of bucks and then decant them into the unfaulty bottle i have for the product at home:D

Now I'm even more impressed
.
I did the first 2 years of an OU degree, but just couldnt find the space or time to continue any further so it's on hold at the moment.
Good luck with final 700 words.
Hi lula hula just make sure that they are still offering the degree. some are finishing (i got a notification about mine) so if you want a particular degree you may want to check it is still running
Ref the debt busting. Is there any reason why you can't get a balance transfer onto a card so that you can be paying some of the debt off a 0%? The APR'S you are paying are eyewatering. Also have you checked that none of them have PPI (payment protection insurance) on them which you may not know about?
The QVC stuff always LOOKS so nice, but I always worried about reactions so never bought...
good luck with your plans this year

ps as the multiple post show, I guess what you were saying has resonated a bit, so now off to do some housework!I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hi chev, thanks for popping by!
Unfortunately there is no option about balance transfers due to having 4 cards and no one will will take on a transfer so have to tackle them 1 by 1 and review again when 1 has been paid off.
The interest and amounts made no difference which way round it was paid off on the snowball calculator so decided to tackle the lowest balance first and feel good when its paid off. 2 overpayments made and still on track the plans
Toiletries issue is more or less addressed now due to skin reaction and things are settling down plus no orders from QVC since 31 Dec and at 6 weeks now!
Pink grapefruit marmalade - Nigella recipe in dometic goddess (whole fruit method and v.easy) and I use most of the recipes from the River Cottage Preserves book and its my favourite. Aiming to try more this year and they've been good so farfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
