I just dont get how these companies can get away with this.

They get away with because people are daft enough to give their bank account details to strangers over the phone. You can reclaim the fee from them (less £5 that they are able to keep) but you may have to be persistent. In future do not give out bank account and debit card details to anyone or any company that you don't trust absolutely.

    Lesson learnt. Thanks

Wutang is correct, if you hand over card or bank details to companies that you know little or nothing about and don't read there terms then iam sure they will help them selves to your cash.

there are things about these type of companies all over the forums and Internet, iam am amazed that they have been allowed to keep on doing this to people.

Iam also amazed how many people are willing to hand over financial details when they know nothing about the company they are dealing with ?

With the coverage on watch dog, the thousands of posts about these type of companies all over google, and the countess threads on here and other forums people still fall for it....

Just remember, if a company is asking for an upfront fee for a loan do not give them the tools to rip you off.

They use classic lines such as:

"i need you bank details or card details to verify your id": -complete crap

"your loan will be in the bank in a few days - all we need is the processing fee" - again bull crap

"the paperwork is in the post" - complete horse dump

etc etc there are loads of lies they will tell you, just don't pay a fee upfront.

To try and get the money back it would be best to write a letter asking for your fee back minus the £5.00 they are allowed to keep, send the letter recorded delivery and keep a copy for your self.

That IS useful, although it may sound harsh, it's the cold hard truth. You need to be 100% certain what you're getting yourself into and the possible implications before giving ANYONE your bank details.

  • I have also been a victim of this at no point whilst filling in my details did it advise me of this 47.50 charge. Iam so annoyed by this. If they had mentioned the charge then no way would i have processed it further. People are applyin for a loan because they have no money. But hey i guess they no this and this is why they dont put the details of the charge in front on your eyes because they no they are doing wrong. They clearly try and diseave people. Does anyone actually have an address for them or an email address? Have u managed to get the money back from them??? Iam going to call the financial onbudsman on monday to logg an official complaint.

it never ceases to amaze me the amount of people that say they have been 'scammed' because of this situ

if people are daft enough to hand out your bank details to complete strangers without fully checking their terms and conditions then i wouldnt really consider them to of been 'scammed'

yes loans is a belter, how many threads on here about people thinking they are a loan company, only to realise later they are in fact just a broker? on the yes loans website there is a tab 'about us' and right there it tells you they are a BROKER

People are applyin for a loan because they have no money.

    That isn't true at all.

When applying for a loan the applicant MUST understand that loan has to be repaid.

Isn't it right that the applicant MUST have enough income to repay the loan???

If you have "no money", then you simply should NOT be applying for loans.

Before applying for loans, you should be ABSOLUTELY sure you have enough money left over each month to be able to meet the repayments.

If you don't, we end up with a whole forum full of people who fail to repay their loans complaining about the lenders getting heavy.

I'm in no way defending the fee they charge, but the same point which gets mentioned EVERY DAY on here is worth saying again....

RESEARCH the company BEFORE giving them all your bank details, not afterwards.

    Hi there,

I applied for a payday loan last week! I did not realise that i was applying with a brokers and was unaware that they would charge me a fee. I did not take any payday loan out after deciding that it just wasnt worth the hassle or the interest. Today i have checked my account and the loan-centre have debited it for the sum of £47.50 without my consent or making me aware of this. I just dont get how these companies can get away with this. I mean the majority of applicants will be applying for a loan due to the fact that they are in financial difficulty, then these companies are allowed to just debit your account of whatever monies they feel like for the privelage of sending you spam.

Can someone please let me no how i can go about reclaiming these monies back, either through the company or if there is anything my bank will be able to do.
