CMD, If you work up until 25 weeks then even if you leave the company you will be entitled to maternity pay. I've handed my notice in and will be finishing in 3 weeks. My work will have to pay all my maternity pay, annual leave and anything else I'm entitled to in one go in my last pay packet. So if you are entitled to a bit of annual leave you might be able to take this before the 25 weeks and finish then? Just thought I'd let you know in case you thought you had to stick it out til 29 weeks...

Well I spoke to the HR manager today and she said that I can take my annual leave before I go, or after I come back. Or a bit of both. She was really nice and said to speak to my manager about what works best for the project and then get back to her.

So I need to speak to my manager and see what she thinks. If it is a favourable discussion I will stick it out.

    Thanks LittleBit,

That is really interesting to know. Unfortunately, I don't think it will work in my place as I am on probation so only have to give 1 weeks notice. I am going to see if I can compromise a bit and maybe finish up at 27 weeks. My boss might go for that. That would have me finishing up in the middle of June (which isn't too bad).

OH paid £50 off his credit card. Getting ever closer to getting under the 14k mark!

Spoke to my boss today and she was really nice about me telling her about the pregnancy. I am not going to tell them I am leaving at 29 weeks until I get the MatB1 form at 20 weeks. I think it looks too planned otherwise.

hi CMD - only you can make the decision - and like you said with pregnancy your hormones are all over the place and that impacts your decision making capability.

Glad you have a holiday booked

Just got some great news. OH has been given £1000 towards his relocation to Scotland (totally unexpected) so that will go off his Tesco credit card!

So this month, I hope to not only get under 14k, but also get under 13k. What a welcome boost to us!
