SAHMS - How to rejoin the real world after being a mum?
Comments

Your OH is a kid?! I know you're only joking but surely if you both work it's reasonable to split the housework, childcare etc fairly evenly. I'm a SAHM and I do most, but not all the housework but if we both worked full time we'd share the housework more evenly.
I was joking, there seems to be a serious lack of sense of humour on here sometimes, he does need a little looking after sometimes.....would never let him near the washing machine!!! But he does pull his weight & do his fair share the kids, I work 9-1 whilst the kids are at school & 6-11pm when he is there to to take care of them.
I am a working mum through necessity not choice, I work the hours I do so that I can be around for my kids as much as possible and can still drop them and pick them up from school. It just gets a little bit tiring to hear STAHM constantly shouting from the rooftops how hard they have got it at least you have the choice to stay home & be with your kids as much as you like!
It's hard for all mums!!
I'm sorry for taking this off track and have already posted my support & advice to the OP, who I hope finds her way soon.:hello:0 -

I agree and I also believe that you are setting a good example for your children which will benefit them in the future

I dont think anyone else has mentioned this, but why isn't having another baby the answer?
If you love all the raising and rearing of children and being a sahm, why not? So what if you are lost and cant think of a future career, you are fortunate enough to not HAVE to go out to work for financial reasons so I see nothing wrong with extending your family if that's what you want to do.0 -
Hi
I hated call centre. Shop work is nicer, much less conflict. I anjoyed working as a pharmacy assistant as tends to be large range of ages. Local hospitals are always looking for trainee pharmacy techs if you want to get qualified. Sign up for some agencys you will get a better range of positions that might suit. If you get some secretary skills at the local college esp computer skills there are options to work in admin sectors or even trainee accounts tech if you have ahead for numbers.0 -

They haven't mentioned it because the OP has to work to help bring money in. As she said in her OP.0 -
What about working from home..arise, teletech, contract x change?
Not always the best for everyone but means you get to stay home and earn
Have a look at the UP YOUR INCOME board.
I'm just in the process of applying to teletech.0
