I know you are used to all that money coming in and you want to be able to keep saving it all but just think that at least for now you have enough to pay bills and still live comfortably (more so than others) This will probably only be short term. I do the admin for a plumbing company and we are really quiet at the moment but come September we will be struggling to fit our customers in again.

Wise words from Pammy. When you know what is happening on Tuesday it will be easier to budget. Even if your savings pot doesnt grow so much for a little while its not all bad. Whatever you achieve it is still miles better than if you didnt overpay at all, chin up mate there is always someone worse off than you are

Cheers you two, I know i'm being an ungrateful git for the fact that I am more than comfortable than alot of people, and I feel bad for it, its just you get used to how it is and then to find you have less coming in is a shock to the system i guess. Plus I think my biggest problem is I have sat with the mortgage calculators & gone through all the scenarios of over paying in anticipation of earning more and paying it off in a stupidly short time! Damn Calculators!MORTGAGE JAN 2019

The maintenance dept is manic from about end of September until about April usually and then May - August is really slow. So I hope they start struggling in a few months and need me back :cool:MORTGAGE JAN 2019

Enjoying your diary Danny. Good luck but you sound very motivated.
In fact I'm a bit jealous...I think you might pay yours off before us!! How rude! Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.84 December 25
% of house owned/% of mortgage paid off. December 25 - 40.34%/33.36%

hey danny
try not to get too down on yourself - you are doing fantastic and have made a great start on most people!
I know its hard when youve played with the calculators to see what *could* happen ... but I have to keep reminding myself this is the long haul not something thats gonna be done in a couple of months or even a couple of years...
when I compare myself to a year ago when I was on a good full-time salary, to now not being in work for the next couple of months, I cringe at why I didnt start doing this earlier when I had the disposeable income...but I think money saving is money saving- whatever you do with the extra, get out of debt, pay off the mortgage etc...so I am seeing this as an opportunity to "practice" all of this and then when the work comes along , itll be a bonus
ps...how goes the cake baking?? ;o)0 -
Hi Danny

If you search for "wild food" and "recipes from nature" in the libary then you may get more results. Foraging didn't bring up much here either.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

SML Save will try that in a sec, good thinking! Thanks!
Young one, the baking went ok, I was going to make rice krispie cakes but then when OH found out I was making them she got excited and pretty much took over and did them while I watched, so although I will take the credit, I think i'll have another go when shes not around! I know what you mean with the money saving. I have taken the opportunity to go through my SOA again and cut down on loads of things so I'm slimlined right down the the bare bones of spending. So if things pick up I will have more 'disposable' income/ Motgage OPs!
Hiya Twinklie! glad your enjoying reading it, and I tell you what - I'll race ya!:D
Work wern't to bad today, got home and did a £1.50 Valued Opinions Survey & did my VirginMedia Thinktank account to the £5 mark so i'll be getting my £5 amazon voucher this month. I havn't done it for a few months, mainly because I went lazy, but its got to be one of the easiest ways to make £5. Gunna save all the Amazon vouchers until December and buy someone a christmas prezzie from there. And all my Valued opinion points are gunna be converted to clubcard vouchers so i can buy a few prezzies from tesco - This is gunna be a cheap crimbo for me I'm determined!
