Bargain Booze used to take your print when you bought a bottle of wine with your debit card

This is the bit that confuses me as I don't see how it infringes civil liberties at all

The fact that a government has knowledge of your most personal and unique
signature and uses that to decide about your movements,it used to be restricted to criminals, but because the majority are compliant it has been accepted as norm.I have no problem with you having your finger -prints taken if that is what you wish, but I want choice.I would also like to state that I have been employed by the British government for thirty years prior to that I was in military service,I have never been convicted of any crime or received a speeding ticket ,but I have had a parking ticket .

I fail to see how having my fingerprints taken at the airport infringes my civil liberties. However, whether it actually does any good in the fight against terrorism I have no idea. If it does help, then I have no problem with it.
There is more chance of you being killed on the road by a drunken driver ,than being injured or killed by a terrorist, should we ban the sale of alcohol (a drug which the government takes taxes from and kills more people than heroin)or breathalyze every driver before he gets into a car.;),both would save lives ,do you agree, but it would an infringement of our civil liberties, and unacceptable to the masses.
We need to strike a balance ,and not have knee jerk reactions to US disasters and policy

Look at the extradition treaty which was designed to combat terror, but has allowed the US to extradite three business men to the states,to face trial because of the ENRON scandal:confused:

I am going to the USA in 12 days (much excitement!!lol) and have no problem with being photographed/fingerprinted etc, as I am choosing to go to their country and by taking that choice logicically I have accept whatever border controls they may have. There is no way I would give up my dream holiday for such a (just my opinion everybody has one which probably disagrees with mine!!) silly thing as not wanting to do this. I have nothing to hide and have done nothing wrong.
Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!
:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!

I was under the impression that driving whilst drunk was already illegal
  • People worry too much nowadays. When I was 8 I went on a visit to a local police station with my Brownie group. As part of the trip we all had our fingerprints done. Not one single parent batted an eyelid.
