how about amalgamating them.0 -
locking into 12 month rolling contracts is ok providing that BT do inform people when it is due for renewal to give them the chance to change to a new supplier. From the amount of complaints we see on the forums this is obviously not happening, draw your own conclusions as to whether this is deliberate or not..................sanfly0

Maybe not ..but im sure they will find a way.!!!!!sanfly0 -
Can you have the evening & weekend plan for the same price with the 12 month advance payment plan ... well you are agreeing to a 12 month term?
Do the 2 calls per month need to be chargeable? (as opposed to simply included within the calling plan)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

I believe any error probably lies with Royal Mail if not with the poster themself.
I'm on a 12 month rolling contract and I get the annual reminder from BT. I can't believe BT are doing this just for me."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Im not on a rolling contract but yes some will be the fault of the post office, only responding to the ever growing list of people who say they never recieve these notifications, wouldnt it be easier for BT to back up the letter with a phone call as well and remove all doubt about them being underhand in the way they deal with this contract renewal con.sanfly0 -

and lets not forget BT use a downstream access provider
so throw a bit of blame their way as well0 -
Have I got this right?
After the initial 'discount' period has passed, line rental will cost £10.99/month if you pay 12 months up-front but £12.04/month if you don't.
So, you'd be lending BT £131.88 (12 x £10.99) for 12 months so as to get a £12.60 (£1.05/month) cost-reduction over that period. Now that may be more than 3 times as much as £131.88 would earn you in a savings account (assuming 3%, that'd only be £3.96 before tax) but it still doesn't sound like value for money to me.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Isn't this a money saving forum? Why are people using BT when you get cheaper calls and internet access elsewhere?
I have just been caught out by the borderline-illegal automatically renewing contract for E&W thing - it will cost me £85 to get out of it and we never received any letter at all.
Funny thing is that it just happened to renew on the day I called - by pure chance!
Doing the sums it is still cheaper to pay the £85 and leave. I am sure people will wake up to these shady practises one day.0
