I guess too many people put things in their basket and just take too long to get to checkout.....It aint yours till you've paid... same as instore !
Ive paid and had E Mail confirmation of more than one order and they still cancel complete orders days after they were made. Whether you have paid for it or not they still cancel without even an explaination.0 -
I had the exact same problem! Very frustrating. In the end I ordered using standard delivery and won't expect it to arrive, but if it does that'll be a bonus.
In my account I can now see which bit was the problem, as most of the order is due for delivery 3 August and only 1 item actually says 12th Sept, so not as bad as it seemed.
The last time I ordered and got nothing I was told that the whole order had been held up by the one item down for late delivery (which in a sale means it's OOS anyway), and that I should have cancelled that item. So probably worth a call to CS to see if that's the case with your order0 -
Yea! Everything I managed to order on Wed evening just arrived! That's ds kitted out smartly with suits & shoes, plus a really lovely new handbag for yours truly. Can't believe it worked so well. Best of luck to those still waiting.0

Everything I ordered online now out of stock so I went into local M&S today. Absolute load of rubbish on racks so very disappointed.0

You don't actually pay until your order is dispatched. They just take your payment details at time of ordering. I guess this is how they get round it.0 -
Order arrived and everything intact. I changed my delivery option on Thursday from Standard to nominated, so glad I did this. Perhaps this is an option for some?0

            I don't understand the M&S system.
I made my order on Thursday morning. Some items were out of stock v quickly, and I received an email today to say three items wouldn't arrive. No worries, I understand that. However, some curtains I purchased were advertised all day Friday, and still advertised as being in stock on the website today - quite specifically there are 6 pairs remaining.
I phoned customer services who advised that yes, they do have them in stock, and have re-ordered them for me. The stock count has now gone down to 5.
Why oh why would I receive an email telling me they're no longer available when they are?! Thankfully the pleasant girl on the phone has sent them nominated delivery but is waiving the delivery fee. She didn't understand it either. I'm so glad I checked - I want those curtains!!
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -

they probably had to do a recount.
Also, it's possible that several orders went through then were cancelled thus allowing the OOS items to go back into stock!0 -

Very, very common. Complete orders get cancelled days after you've effectively paid for them. Happens time after time, and has been doing for years. You complain, they make all the right noises, then they do precisely nothing.
There's incompetence. And there's Marks and Spencer incompetence.0
