and you and others seem to be implying that the resources of this country belong to every man woman and child in this country (unless they immigrated - in which case it's all a bit blurry).

i find it more helpful to concentrate on doing as little harm to others rather than obsessing about the harm we perceive others to have done to us.

I'm with michaels in seeing this woman's origins as basically irrelevant.

There are those on this thread who see that as an extra stick to beat her with; you, however, are in a special place, as you appear to believe her origins give her some kind of excuse that mere natives don't have.

I find that pretty repugnant.

Once a person has a right to stay, immigration history is still relevant. If you have indefinite leave to remain you are still liable for deportation if criminal offences are committed, and ILR lapses if you don't live here for 2 years or more.
