So are you now saying that fraud is OK and a legitimate way of life?
not at all. i'm saying that just because your parent commits a fraud doesn't mean you should be written off for life. i'm also saying that benefit claimants are not the only ones who commit fraud.
most people are not all good or all bad. so i find calling them scum and their offspring scum pretty nasty tbh.
of course the whole benefits and housing situation in this country needs sorting out. there are also a lot of people who are struggling and this of course leads to look for 'enemies'. however picking on individuals - especially those who just 'happen' to be be foreigners -just smacks of resentment - or rather, ressentiment. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0

The issue is that they are convicted criminals who are benefitting from their crimes and being allowed to continue to do so. At least (in theory) a drug dealer has the profits from his crimes confiscated.0

but dealing drugs is completely illegal. having your housing paid for by the council isn't. it's not much different to going to the gp or a and e and exaggerating your symptoms to see a specialist quicker. you would have got there eventually anyway.
okay she picked a bad way to speed up the process (wrongfully blaming her ex for kidnap) but it doesn't sound like he is a very nice person anyway and checking the dates with his time in prison couldn't have taken that much police time. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0

She was convicted in court and given an 8 month prison sentance ( suspended so the children would not go into care) That is more than just an offence of minor exageration. The woman is a convicted criminal and I stand by my argument that she is still benfitting from the crime, which is wrong.0

seriously??? what about the children's right to family life and being able to see their mother?yes she made a mistake but i don't think deportation for every criminal act is right. .
Firstly, once you reach the age of 16 in my book you are not a child.
Secondly, I didn't say I would deport every criminal, but criminals who commit a serious nonpolitical crime - of the kind that could be tried on indictment - should be deported if they are not citizens.
Citizens are here by right. Non citizens are guests in the country. Under the international law relating to refuges, refuges have a duty to obey the law of their guest country. If they fail in this duty, the consequences are on their own head.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
