umm. why would the disbaled bay not meet their requirements. a p&c bay is no different . Apart from being further away!?

Who's to say they have a blue badge to display? I certainly wouldn't let my parents park in a disabled bay if we didn't have the blue badge and they wouldn't feel right to anyway. In that situation they would park in a P&C bay to give me the needed space. Not exactly the best of situations but better than having to come back another day instead. It's easy enough to forget a blue badge/for the badge to be in a different car after all. Or a person may be waiting on a blue badge in the mean time.atomicsheep wrote: »courtesy, exalty. not much shown if you are disabled and have the option of a dsiabled bay but take the last P&C is it??I am a vegan woman. You didn't say that the abundance of disabled bays were free. I'm not a mind reader so assumed (Now I realise wrongly) that all the disabled bays were taken up.
I can't see the point if you have a blue badge and need the extra space why someone would use a P&C rather than a space designed for them that's free.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.0

I went to Homebase on a retail park today (Durham Arnison if anyone knows it), and it made me think of this thread!
The shops are in an L shape and Homebase is in the corner of the L. The square outside of Homebase is dedicated to disabled spaces only, and the rest of the car park is normal spaces.
As I bought 3 x 100L bags of compost and was struggling shoving a flat bed trolley across the totally empty disabled car park space to my car which was parked some distance away, I was bemused as to why they put the disabled spaces there.
Homebase is the only store in the retail park that sells very heavy goods, but it is the only store that you cannot park directly in front of if you are not disabled. It would make more sense to have those spaces as normal space for people buying heavy things, and put the disabled spaces in front of the shops along each side of the L.Here I go again on my own....0 -

Pull the trolley, it would have been easier.0 -

Or leave the trolley where it was and go and get the car?0 -
There have been several comments along the lines of;
"What did people do before P&C spaces were introduced"
Without meaning to sound rude, what did disabled people do before the disabled spaces were introduced? It's been mentioned that it's essential to have wider spaces so can we assume they never went out because they were unable to park and get out of the car.0
