    Thanks for trying.

We had our offer accepted on it nearly 2 weeks ago, and we accepted an offer on ours this week, so we're in the early stages of buying it......

Have to admit, everything I've heard about the selling EA has been poor, so not surprised that they've been no help over this!
  • Looks like a bovis to me - I have a bovis and teh kitchjen appliances look the same as do the artex ceilings etc.

I understand your reasoning, but bear in mind that the big builders contract all their work out so the same guys work for lots of builders, and what is a problem on one development may not be on another.

Sorry for the delay in letting you know! Was waiting for the contract to arrive and hoping it would be in there..... and thankfully it is! However, there's even a bit of confusion in there!

Redrow Homes bought the land in Jan 98
Redrow then sold to Wilcon Homes in Dec 98
House was then sold by Wilcon to it's first resident in Nov 2001

So, are Redrow and Wilcon linked? I assume so.....

Nearly at the beginning of this thread we had the post:
The deeds/land registry title might show that the property was conveyed from (A) - the builder - to (B) the buyer.

If there are any covenants, then the builder as the original owner would almost certainly be named.

That's the answer. Nearly every new build conveyance or transfer contains covenants and so there will be an entry in the charges register of the title -
"the Transfer dated XXXXX made between YYYYY ltd and ZZZZZ contains restrictive covenants. Copy Filed. "

You don't need the LR plan but the register and this should tell you who the builder was.

As a conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful but I accept no liability except to fee-paying clients.

As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.
