It's more than likely, as developments usually have the same type of road names, in this case minerals. Amethyst Drive may be a later phase of the development, hence its newer. Have emailed OH to see if he knows (he's a planner, but not in Kent).

He's not sure, but thinks it might be a Bryant or George Wimpey. HTH

Hmmmm, the list of potentials grows larger! ;-)
    Thank the OH for me!

It looks similar to some Bovis houses I sold 6-7 years ago, although those had aflint front elevation & slightly different windows.

OK - the suspense is killing me :D

Why do you need to know?:D

Would like to find out who it was, and then look up any common build issues that those builders are known for.... then we can check these issues out pre-sale, kind of like doing our own survey..... I'm sure nothing will come up, but would like to be sure.....

OH also suggested trying upmystreet.com if you know the postcode.

ooh, sorry! That should be able to tell you the council it comes under, so you should be able to ring their planning department, if you haven't already. https://www.directgov.uk (I think) should be able to give you the number.

Ah right! I already know the council it comes under!

Upmystreet did give a link to the Land Register though. They charge £3 for the plans of the house, is this likely to show the original builder do you think?

I can't remember if plans show the builder, possibly it would only be the architect. I can check ours tonight, if no-one else has theirs handy.

Doubtful, unless they granted an easement.

Seriously, your best bet is to call the Planning dept at the local council. The original developer will have applied for planning permission and the Planning dept can call up the application. I think I had a look on the website but it didn't seem to have plans there that old. You might not get an instant response .... it might be better to visit them as you can even look at the application. Not much help unless you're local, though. Worth a call to the Planning department?
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
